I have been really irritated by the apparent networking issues around Destiny2, to the point that I have not preordered Beyond Light. Some of my friends see similar latency in games, but my issue seems to be more consistent. No other devices are connected to my internet. The bungie networking guide is not helpful, because all those steps show no problem. I am running a MB8600 modem with -5.0 to -6.1 dBmV on all channels, no uncorrected packets, no corrected packets, so I dont feel like it is my downstream. My upstream is a little high, at 49-50 dBmV (the modem has enough power to go to 57 dBmV, and I have had my ISP inspect and remove their own filters and replace lines a few times, but it is very steady at that range). My ping to bungie.net from my PC is 21.1ms. My ping to the closest game server is 18ms, and 27ms to the Washington server. My connection benchmark from my router is 325mbps down and 13mbps up, with an unloaded 9.95ms ping and .88ms jitter, zero packet loss. Under load I get a 16ms download, and 30ms upload ping. I dont see any packet loss between me and any of the bungie game servers (the highest ping NA server I can ping is 162.254.192.70, and gives me 83ms, with 7 jumps; I get some ping variation, but no packet loss and my highest ping was 104 in my test). All of my connections are compression fit, and I am hard wired. But I almost ALWAYS have a very poor connection (the white bar next to my handle) in lobbies, and constantly get rubber banding players, no hit detection. When I first log in, I always have a solid white bar next to my handle, and in matchmaking I maintain a solid white bar. As soon as the game launches my connection quality tanks. I get baboon errors a couple times a night. It very clearly is not my connection to the internet, it is my connection specifically to Destiny. What is going on and what is a fix?
