What’s the point in paying if you can get pretty much the entire season for free? Makes people who do pay feel like their money was wasted.
I didn’t pay for shadowkeep and was pretty much able to do everything except Garden if Salvation.
This needs to change. F2P players shouldn’t be getting this much new content.
Being able to go to Europa as a F2P player makes absolutely no sense. All those dev hours put it for a huge new destination just to give it away for free in hopes people buy eververse items? Nah that’s not it

Mostly it's free grind. Hey there, get a shiny new car for free; engine, tires and seats extra of course. Taxes and license may be added for a minimal extra charge. If you want to drive on our roads you'll need a season pass. But it's free!
-
From what I read, free to play players have no access to the new subclasses, raids, dungeons and a few other things
-
I agree to a certain extent.....not in terms of the free stuff though. More stuff thats free is better. But i do have a problem with how New Lights are spoiled with loot and power..... Hear me out, before they even take there first step, they have absolutely everything unlocked in there subclass nodes. If they own forsaken, they get the Forsaken supers completely upgraded and usable aftee they wake up. There is no progression whatsoever in unlocking a specific tree or a sence of power. Litterally you just wake up and you kbow already have more power than some guardians in the lore
-
I think it adds to the player base. These "New Lights" are the cancers that get stuff for free, and are the ones riding around on those annoying Pikes, or messing up heroic public events. But oddly enough, a good number of them do end up paying for the full game. I joke of course, but it's painfully obvious when you run across a New Light, and I've gone from being annoyed to feeling sorry for them.

In shadowkeep, as a f2p player, you're locked out of the raid, the dungeon, nightmare hunts, exotic quests and the campaign. You also get the forsaken supers if you buy shadowkeep without owning forsaken. As a f2p player, you have access to the first mission, the moon itself and I believe the strikes. So no, you don't get almost everything for free. Plus, you're complaining about receiving free content? Are you mentally broken or just finding something to cry about?

After a little bit of "what is everyone else in the industry doing?" Then a long story from marketing people about more budget for them for advertising, changing branding, more staff, more show trips, etc. (ok projecting what I hear from marketing a little) you could conclude that the simplest solutions that emerge would be just what they are doing: Free to play Xbox Gamepass This gets more people in, a percentage of them get hooked/excited, then B can sell them cosmetics and DLC/non-free content. As a long time player I'm excited to see them do things like this to help the population. So now free makes sense. Then you need enough content to get them to Eververse multiple times. You need stuff in the Season Pass that they want. Giving them more or less base game would only be a factor if you though you needed more content to sell. Really just the season and Tess is enough to sell.

Bro honestly please just shut the -blam!- up holy shit. You're literally complaining about free stuff.
-
This is the exact reason why I am delaying buying anything from Bungie. It’s completely dependent upon if the season ornaments and weapons are worth it. Honestly feel like we pay for only decorations nowadays.
-
You don’t get practically everything if you’re a f2p. IMO doing it like this, giving F2P players a taste of what you can get if you buy the dlc/season could work better for sales. I enjoy the content I get and see there’s a good amount more content if I buy the entire thing.
I didn’t pay for shadowkeep and was pretty much able to do everything except Garden if Salvation. This needs to change.
So, you basically want to pay for something, because what you actually play is free ? That seems weird.

an Ape with a d2 addictionにより編集済み: 10/29/2020 8:04:10 AMWould imagine MTX brings far more revenue than 1-time season access purchases. More F2P means more potential MTX buyers. It's usually about money.

Nobody is forcing u to buy DLCS Ur the kind of person to remind the teacher they haven’t set homework lol

I think your looking at it wrong, The F2P Content is considered the Base Content, pretty much everyone has acsses. The People who Pay get Exclusive Acsses to New Campaigns,New Supers, Exclusive Weapons, Exclusive Exotics, Exclusive Season Rewards. It's actually the opposite.

Kouz_MCにより編集済み: 10/29/2020 7:23:21 AMAren’t you happy you’re getting that boring D1 recycled exotic pulse back for another fee, and now you can carry two arc angels to help you get that kill in pvp with your warlock? One dollar today is worth more than one dollar tomorrow. Learn your lesson.

By pure numbers of activities, yes there is quite the bit that is free. From a design perspective a lot of that makes sense. You don't want to fracture the player base for match making for like pvp and strike stuff and destinations. I would argue that the stuff that is free is kind of there to get folks hooked on the system and interested in the really good content. Like the best parts of the game (this is all my opinion) are the story, the dungeons, and the raids. All of this stuff is locked behind that paywall. The only real thing exception is Prophesy, but I think that was one of those things where it gives F2P players a taste of the best end game content so when they see a dungeon is locked behind an expansion they know how damn cool it is.
-
Because 20 million people own destiny 2, 15 million own the current dlcs yet only 1 million players consistently play with that number always dipping below most the time 200,000 in PVP and 400,000 in PVE... If they can't get people to play your matchmaking experience tanks.

Double07により編集済み: 10/29/2020 2:50:37 PM"F2P players won't experience the story, new subclasses or the raid. I agree that paid content is a bit light but the stuff worth doing/caring for in the expansion is behind a paywall." "F2P is a great way to get new players sucked into the experience without the initial expense. I suspect that Bungie have run the math and know that a certain percentage of players will either buy Eververse cosmetics or paid expansions."
