600's need a range nerf/ dmg fallout nerf imo. The range that these guns can dual Scouts and pulse rifles is absolutely bonkers especially if you're running a 0 recoil Gnawing or Summoner.
On a side note, can someone honestly tell me why scout rifles even exist in this game considering bows do their job but better in most instances?
You can also argue the same for Smgs vs Sidearms, where Sidearms are clearly better in close range engagements.

Which means you make them useless in PVE.
You Crucible jockeys always for get that Crucible maps are TINY compared to the spaces that PVE gets played in.
Crucible jockey, me? Not quite.
Most of if not all PvE enemies in D2 are in your face for most gun fights outside of far off snipers so why do 600rpm autos need to be able to map enemies to be considered good? Isn't that what scouts are supposed to be for? How is trimming their range going to make them useless in pve?
I don't know about you but I don't know anyone who is trying to spray snipe Vandals from across Nessus before you pick up power cores in Exodus Crash or mow down Goblins from the center conflux in garden from their totem. I mean maybe on PC..
Heck, bungie sliced pulse and handcannons ranges because of pvp and they're still just as good in pve.
The only auto rifle type that should be mapping people is the 360s and literally nobody ever uses those in either pve or pvp unless you have a Subsistence/ rampage build.
I personally think Bungie has too many archetypes in each weapon category.
Just look at autos for example. You've got the 360, 450, 600, 720 where the 600's blatantly outclass all of them. Let's not even mention their frame gives them better recoil control to the point it's non-existent and they are the easiest to use by far.
Give the others a reason to compete because they have all been benched for a long long time. 700s are just crappy smgs with more range, 360s are scouts with more recoil and 450s are your average joe's that would be better if they were 600s.
Unless bungie has more sandbox changes than the ones they posted, this auto rifle hierarchy isn't going to change in Beyond Light for pve or pvp.
Why should a pulse outrange an auto? All a pulse rifle is, is just an burst version of an auto just a firing mode and shouldn't get range because it is capable of full auto. A scout rifle should be able to but pulse an auto should be in the same ranges just Bungie like many of those ignorant of guns needs to learn what recoil and muzzle limb is. 600s have no recoil or muzzle climb maybe well be lazers.
