If you think you're playing a mobile game then you should just go all-out and go play [spoiler]Gacha Impact[/spoiler]. You'll be slithering back soon enough after experiencing a real mobile game. At the very least you can ignore the Eververse in it's entirety and not even acknowledge that it exists. At the very least you can put D2 down at any time and not feel like you're missing out on anything because the game is only as valuable as you make it. It doesn't ascribe it's own important to you. I'm not defending Bungie or Eververse. It's not anywhere as bad as it could be and it has no direct impact on the game. It's telling however, as others have said, that they can fill the Eververse at least once a season but they cannot be bothered to give venders or even just 1 vendor a refresh with similar or even less work involved. But the longer they wait, they less impact it will have because people have been building up stockpiles in anticipation. Or they will be when they learn that a refresh is coming. [spoiler]And bring back the factions. They were good vendors in D1 even if they mostly had weekly rotations of weapons/rolls. The Faction alignment with reputation and rankup rewards was a very good timesink.[/spoiler] [spoiler]Banshee being relegated to a quasi-token farm and bounty vendor is... I suppose it's fine. But it would be great if they brought back the Foundry weapons possibly on a weekly rotation where you can do specific bounties to roll for something from that week's rotation so that people who dump everything they have can still try for some. [/spoiler] But I have a feeling that's what the seasonal content for the next year is during/after Beyond Light drops. It's not a mobile game. And it's nowhere near as bad as it could be. Pushback is healthy and necessary. It's a shame that people have thrown caution to the wind and given credence to truly pathetic instances like [i]Genshin Impact[/i] that are designed solely around draining your bank account with the facade of a game to lure people in. I at least trust Bungie to not even consider falling into the pit that future games will invariably be drawn to after such an "instance's" success off the foolish.

imagine buying a car and complaining about having to fuel it up regularly. imagine crying about having a car you bought, needing maintenance, that you have to also pay for. and yes, those parts you have to buy are the same thing you have now. imagine crying every time the maker of your car comes out with a newer version of your car. but no one really complains about buying a new $1,000 phone every year or two, but complains about a $10 expansion, not being worth it.

Well, its a dynamic game afterall with seasons. It was designed to be a game with constant updates, so that needs money. You want a one and done, get a single player game.

40$ a year certainly do not cover all the costs of business with that number of employees. I mean look at WoW. Has an item shop as well, isn't free-to-play and you still pay for a yearly expansion on top of a monthly subscription. As a more or less external publisher-free studio, you have to cover a lot of costs here as well. Yes, there are deals with Net-Ease but according to the sources that money doesn't affect Destiny or it's development directly. It's not as easy as so many think. Also there a great articles in the web to read, what it takes to run a relatively big studio.

Bungie is neither lazy nor incompetent. Bungie is a business. That's just capitalism babby. Like EA with their suprise mechanics.

I know eververse isn't ur main point but it drives me crazy when people(in the comments)rail on eververse like its the problem with destiny, eververse sells COSMETICS nothing about cosmetics is game breaking, if you cant control your spending or cant use your mommies credit card thats not bungies fault. You will still have the exact same game experience if you spend $10,000 or $0 in eververse. What is bungies fault is the complete lack of content(as op said)and the ridiculous amount of reskins, not just weapons but content as well. It took them 3 weeks to bring the haunted forest rewards to 1050(not that they're worth it anyway, should've just left it alone)but let a nightfall be the slightest bit broken and they're on it in a minute. Its a absolute fact that they're taking away more than they're giving with beyond light and what they give will just be reskinned content but they still want $70 for it.....hey, heres a shitty pulse rifle from a D1 story we completely abandoned, thats worth at least $50 right?
