Yeah, it's true that they haven't given us any compelling reasons for sunsetting armor... at least not yet. But sunsetting the current set of weapons makes sense to me. While it's true that weapons won't go away, as their levels diverge from the current levels of the encounters it will be less and less necessary for Bungie to design new content around them. It's too soon to know what that's actually going to mean. It might mean that we're going to have to be more creative when it comes to loadouts - focusing more on what works best for individual situations rather than just leaving our best weapons equipped no matter what we're doing. We'll see. Posting the same thing over and over certainly seems to suggest an agenda. It looks like an attempt to shut down the discussion. It looks like an attempt to oversimplify the situation. It certainly tends to suggest that there's no reason to consider that the people who make the game you say you love might have a clue... and I agree with you that some of the things they do seem clueless. But I also intend to play the game and have fun. From one 1%er to another, why poison people's expectations?

I'm not trying to come off as a person on a headhunt mission or door to door salesman. I have no agenda but to stand my ground on my take on sunsetting. After 2,812,500+ final blows I only have 2 weapons with more than 20k kills. I dismantled one of those (my Midnight Coup) I'm no stranger to changing out my weapons often, alot of them only have 1000 - 9000 kills on them. I'll use the new weapons but I do have a bad feeling that a large amout of the "new" weapons won't be so new. I get in several different discussions on several different threads about sunsetting and sometimes I copy and paste my responses so I don't have to type so much every time.

 • Well you said it yourself. A new weapon ecology isn't going to happen overnight. I believe you said about a year and I agree with that... 10 - 20 weapons a season. But I don't have a problem with them filling the void with some existing weapons (like Gnawing Hunger) that are good but not great. And I'm definitely up for some grinding. I'll be keeping my eyes open for a replacement for my Austringer - even if it's another Austringer. I really hope they come up with some cool shit right out of the gate when Beyond Light drops.
