Theories for Beyond Light? (and after)

hi again. just curious... what do you guys expect to happen (and hope to happen) in beyond light? what’s some of your theories on the darkness, or europa, or whatever else you think is coming? i have a few theories myself. for one, the traveler is looking worse for wear. and with the oncoming pyramids, maybe it won’t survive. maybe that’s the significance of the seed we have from the tree of silver wings. maybe we’re supposed to plant that seed and grow a new tree, which in turn will make a new traveler. or maybe posses the properties to repair/heal the traveler. also, we’re gonna fight the darkness, but how? will the darkness send it’s own army to fight us, and if so, what will be its army? as of late the darkness seems to be persuading us to switch sides. it gave us the effigy, says “we offer only truth”, and from the looks of it, its going to give us some stasis powers. so is the darkness’s plan to take lightbearers and turn them into darkbearers, and THAT will be its army? and we’ll have to fight dark guardians? will WE become dark guardians?! or have the choice to? and who’s going to teach us how to use our stasis powers? some people think eris, some people think exo stranger, but i like to imagine the darkness itself will teach us. picture it: we’re deep in the pyramid, and the darkness gives us the power like the shard of the traveler gave us our light back. then some doors open and send in some nightmares, or taken, or somebody, and it watches us use our new powers to kill them. and the whole time the darkness is like emperor palpatine saying “dew it!” oh and lastly, i want a cool fight scene starring drifter. bungie you better deliver! anyway, those are my thoughts! hope i didn’t bore ya!
oooh what if drifty and eris kiss?!
• I would imagine we would fight those creatures drifter described. They seem to look similar to flood tank fourms. Savathun may not be a big threat once we get stasis. The pyramids seem to value us enough to prevent Savathun from killing us. I would imagine she only as powerful as orxy if not slighty less and that lore wise were only slightly more powerful then we were in ttk. As for light fall and afterward bungie might just end it there. If a d3 was a thing which I doubt at least for a couple years after light fall. I wouldn't mind a halo 4 style campaign that focuses more on our gaurdian and has alot more gaurdian dialog and story vs having all these powerful characters interacting and our gaurdian just happens to be there. I also wouldn't mind a totally new threat after light fall. It doesn't have a be as powerful as the darkness but still a very big threat that presents its own unique challenge. But that's just my take.

Hmm 🤔 Lightfall: Mara Sov emerges with some kinda BS godly unknown power and wants to rid the universe of light and dark and any worlds either have touched because shes tired of the games both play. She r*pes all other Pyramids and the large one flies to earth to make a stand while bickering with the Traveler like an angry sibling.

Bungie has never followed a correct story progression. I also have some questions for you as well? Why do we need to repair the traveller?. Last I checked, the traveller awoke to destroy ghaul and after that the enemies did not damage or interfere with the traveller in any capacity ( unless i am missing something). After ghaul - osiris -warmind -forsaken ( Uldren and riven) - black armory - Gambit -Calus -shadowkeep ( season of undying till season of arrivals). None of this stories had anything to do with the traveller yet aside from season of arrivals where the pyramids invaded. I believe we won’t be repairing the traveller ( it’s already awakened). For my theory: -Beyond Light: Eramis and 3 Vip’s, we kill eramis on campaign, one vip would be a strike and the other 2 would be raid boss. During the expansion we find something about the darkness after we possess stasis. During one of these 3 seasons coming after beyond light we might find one of the companions s of eramis or the remains of her army and kill him/her as well, another one of those seasons could be something assistant to savathun or xivu and we kill him as well( norkis for good or quira which is a big blow to savathun)) with savathun finally moving into our solar system and heading to face us. Witch Queen: Similar to oryx but she approaches us differently. she might bring back oryx ( with her necromancy powers learned from norkis or our older bosses like skolas or aksis and seeing how bungie loves to bring back old stuff). the darkness plays bigger part here as well by helping us a little. this causes us to see whether we could abandon the traveller for this or not. the dreadnaught might come back . we might need some sort of ascendant energy or shard from the oryx’s dreadnaught to enter savathuns ascendant realm. after witch-queen the following 3 seasons, they are going to follow the pattern like taken king did. we find someone else trying to become the leader of taken and it was a knight we would be killing like last time or finally calus daughter is revealed and we would kill her( i don’t think she becomes a formidable foe like savathun since norkis was hyped up during taken king and he became a strike boss) . During one these seasons we find really something disturbing about the traveller and why it chose to abandon the fallen and whether it would one day do that to us with darkness saying it definitely will. the darkness might give us a mission to harm the traveller which we refuse it completely and the darkness figures out that we wanted to use its powers against us which will lead to LIGHTFALL. that’s it folks.... I came up with this with the last experience of how bungie handled season during destiny 1 taken king where we kill a major enemy and then its knight tries to claim the throne like we got a strike during the mid season of taken king. pretty sure about the light or dark in following seasons after the witch queen because of it’s title reveal and dialogue for lightfall. Exo-Stranger: A side should be taken, even if it’s the wrong side. P.S I hope we see something about shin or the dredgen during these expansions. Tell me what you guys think.

      • So. I have two theories. Both based heavily in hints and basic assumptions with relevant lore for Beyond Light thrown I between. First theory (and my more favourite one) follows a linear story told over Beyond Light: Beyond Light happens. And for Season 12 we work with Variks to dismantle the Dark Empire (or House Salvation/of Darkness) across both Europa and other Eliksni heavy locations like Nessus, the EDZ and the Tangled Shore. Ending with hints of them making a move in the Cosmodrome. Season 13 we move to the Cosmodrome where we make advances there to reclaim the area with the aid of Shiro-4 (based on rumours that his VA has recorded lines for a future Bungie release and the fact we know he’s still alive). This would include us destroying both a newly revived Sepiks Prime and SABER model in Strikes as a means of stopping their spread to the rest of the Eliksni. We’d also get an exotic quest from Petra Venj where we embark into the Cosmodrome in search of the Crow (post-resurrection Uldren). He’d refuse to come with us asking to be left alone and gives us his double barrel shotgun (seen in a lot of Forsaken promotional material) as an exotic. Season 14 would start with us finding final movements of House Darkness on Europa against the Vex. Turns out they’re mounting a major assault and the best way to know their plans is to assault the Vault of Glass which has now been made accessible via Nessus. After the World’s first clear we find access to a mission which results in us freeing Praydeth. He explains the situation and tells us that the fallen went to the Cosmodrome in search of tech to combat the vex (Sepiks and SABER). We then deal with the Vex throughout the Season and eventually stop them. In the process we find access to a piece of Vex machinery that would in essence, allow us to stop the Curse on the Dreaming City. Season 15 would then be such. We return to the Dreaming City in force and make haste to stop Dul Incaru once and for all, killing her at the end of the season. We’d also have a secondary objective to deal with Fikrul who has been reviving himself for two years; Petra would see the only way to deal with him is to throw him back in the PoE. We do both things, the Tangled Shore and Dreaming City get vaulted at the end of the year, and Witch Queen starts. Now, the second theory is based on something pointed out on reddit. With Shadowkeep we got shown four cards that displayed the colours that would be associated with the seasons. So this theory is based on that. Season 12 is a blue colour so it’s likely linked closely to Beyond Light. It’s the same colour as House Darkness’s symbol so it will likely be about defeating them. Season 13 is a purple colour. Which could mean two things. One we see a larger presence of House Dusk in the Cosmodrome and Two we see the return of the Crow who will be the vendor for the location (as shown in the triumph screen where it displays his symbol from D1 on the Cosmodrome triumph icon. Season 14 is a Red colour and very reminiscent of Rasputin. I imagine this will be us repairing and making his new body. Quite possibly linking us to the Vault of Glass because we know the Vex and Exo are confirmed to be very closely tied together. Season 15 is Scorn Yellow. The same yellow used in Forsaken for the missions in the campaign. I’d imagine it will either be about killing Fikrul, breaking the curse or both.

        • <Dark Guardians are dumb and I will die on that hill if I have to. I don't even care if the Pyramid Armada's soldiers are humans, I just want as little Guardian interference as possible.>
