This has transcended infuriating and gone straight to painfully funny.
You know who you are and you’re up there with the people who still don’t understand how to make a fallen walker heroic for idiocy.

1 返信DeathPony07により編集済み: 9/8/2020 8:34:45 AMMy biggest pet peeves: People who don't know how to activate heroic public events and just nuke the boss, or destroy the blights they can see me using to damage the big blight. People who purposely ruin heroic public events from being activated. People who lead the shielded knights bosses away from each other. People that don't know the EP boss mechanics. People that don't kill Champions or have no idea how, and don't use the mods. People who constantly die because they either run ahead, don't use cover, or try to punch everything to death.

TheArtistにより編集済み: 9/8/2020 12:50:16 PM1. Veterans do understand it. Its just a PITA. New players dont' have years of experience with Bungie using ball-and-orb mechanics...and knowing that you need to satisfy a mechanic to break white shields. Also the strike gives NO guidance to new players as to what to do, or that passing it around charges it up. 2. Unless you're runnign that strike as a NF, its easier to just throw multiple orbs to break the shields rather than trying to coordinate with randoms to toss it back and forth trying to power it up to break-a-shield-in-one. 3. This is why you have to scale mechanics to the type of situation you're going to place them. in. Having people toss orbs back and forth to charge them up requires too much coordination for a playlist where most people are random matchmaking, and where no one is communicating on headphones. TLDR' You have to put the sidewalks where the people walk. Bungie didn't do that with "The Corrupted" on multiple levels. Which is why its one of the least liked strikes in the game....and it is absolute MISERY to try to do with randoms when MM for he lower level nightfalls...and that level of coordination starts to matter.

You see, being a veteran of D1, I knew how the base stuff of Destiny worked - Strikes, Raids, Story Missions, Gear, Levelling, I knew about all of that. So... when I finally came back to D2 after ditching it (due to it's horrible launch), I skipped plenty and plenty of tooltips that told me basics I already knew. Imagine that I skipped the tooltip for the Corrupted strike, because I was dealing with obvious tooltips so frequently, it just became habit to dismiss them, especially during something so brainless as a strike. Suddenly, I'm never made aware of a mechanic being included in a strike, and never being able to really guess so since they weren't so prevalent in D1. I hadn't even really noticed until I found out about it from the forums - especially so since I've yet to had done a run where the ball was thrown to me and supercharged. Am I an idiot for it? I'd argue not. Are you a buffoon for not being able to imagine anything out of idiocy being the reason for not knowing the mechanic? Probably. Be more considerate.

Ehy Hearthless. You should take two seconds to chill and reason about what you're writing. First of all, take in consideration that with New Light there are many new Players around. Some of them maybe NEVER did the Corrupted so they have no idea about the Orb's Mechanic and how it works. Second, if this is really a problem for you, why instead of opening a thread just to complain and insult people you don't expain how this mechanic works in order to help who doesn't know it? Sounds much more helpful to me, don't you think?
-
Some people know how to, it's just easier for them to ignore the mechanic and wait for you to do it. As for Heroic Public Events, some quests etc require PEs to be completed so people just burn through them and don't care about pushing them to heroic. It's fairly rare players these days are unaware in my opinion.

You know who you are and you’re up there with the people who still don’t understand how to make a fallen walker heroic for idiocy.
How many times have you seen someone not doing it correctly and then sent messages to them explaining it? You don't even explain in your rant post. 🙄 (worst kind of crying...) For those who don't know, and care, you grab an orb then toss it to a teammate to supercharge it. It does massive damage to the taken phalanxes on the elevator, and breaks Sedia's shield in 1 hit instead of 2. Also, if it wasn't obvious, if a teammate tosses you a supercharged orb, throw it at said enemies...

Aren't there only like two activities in the game that involve charging the orb anyway, one of them being in patrol but with a different charge mechanic? It doesn't surprise me if people don't know it even after doing the strike multiple times since the strike doesn't really hint at it nor do people seem to bother teaching them. Hell, you don't even bother to explain how it works in your rant so people that don't know will understand it.
Don't bother mentioning it now though, the people below already explained it.

You know who you are and you’re up there with the people who still don’t understand how to make a fallen walker heroic for idiocy.
95% of the time someone destroys the fallen walker is because they're doing it intentionally, not because they don't know how it works. Most of the heroics aren't worth doing unless you need them for a bounty/quest or if they're quicker to finish than the base event.

Swiftlockにより編集済み: 9/7/2020 5:41:00 PM
Somebody please explain why it’s 2020 and people STILL don’t understand the orb mechanic in The Corrupted?
Because people like you choose to complain and insult people instead of taking two seconds to explain the mechanic and help spread the word.

Randomly matched with players for a Nightfall yesterday. One guy kept chucking the balls across the way at boss lady (I loaded in late). Didn’t know this mechanic. The other guy did and he kept Waving at me. So I took the initiative. I think I taught someone that day....
-
Me and my wife always do what we can to get their attention and then demonstrate it for them. Doesn't take long and works about 50% of the time. Then maybe those people will teach people. And if we all do that then maybe one day the problem will go away?

1 返信Most old players are gone. Its mostly new players now. They will likely leave soon too.

I'm honestly surprised when someone actually does know, I'm so used to it now I just start throwing multiple balls at the shielded dudes because its quicker than throwing them at a random and watching them try to slam it somewhere or throw it at taken thrall.

Sweet Lew 88により編集済み: 9/7/2020 6:39:38 AMI don't think they explain it in the strike. In normal strikes, it doesn't really matter because it's so easy normally that you don't need to take the shield out in one ball. Lots of new light players that may have someone to tell them. Another reason for no raid matchmaking. Send a party invite and explain it to them if it matters that much to you.

Explaination on Orb Mechanic: Pick up Relic Throw directly at teammate Relic is now supercharged™ (trust me, it's obvious) Teammate throws Super Relic at enemy with White Barrier White Barrier permanently disabled *With Sedia, she gets 2 rounds of barrier.
