Metas come and go,
Gnawing Hunger and Summoner are really the only two common autos I'm seeing and with Gnawing hunger pretty much a participation award this season it's understandable it's popular.
Yes it's easy to use has no recoil and has good range but they can be beaten.
I run a 150 scout and a 180 HC and take them out more than they get me every now and then I'll come up against a clan stack running them then sure it's a different story but they could likely be running anything as a stack of they work together they will come out on top (unless I have super up then they are all usually 💀)
This Meta will move on soon likely weapon rebalancing with BL so soon it will be the next meta - rinse and repeat personally I'm hoping scouts get some love I'm already using them ATM so at least I'll be ready.

But is it really? I run scout rifle and HC and taking them out more than I'm dying. Sure standing there trading blows with 1v1 against them you are likely to go down to them but crucible is dynamic There are sidearms that outgun them close range scouts and pulses at very long range, The 600 autos dominate medium range sure and yes I agree the stability and range is a little much but they can be beaten I guess Is what I'm getting at. The Meta will soon change anyway it always does we just have to ride this one out and try our best. I do hear what you are saying and personally something like Gnawing hunger should have at least had a challenge to get it. Perhaps there was a hidden agenda to giving them out (as in getting more into pvp) who knows, likely there will be another godly weapon in BL that will dominate usage wise.
