D1 and D2 both have outstanding soundtracks.
Thanks to these guys, Marty O’Donnell , Michael Salvatori, Skye Lewin, Rotem Moav and Pieter Schlosser, the game is much better.
Especially love the last with soundtrack and rise of iron soundtrack specifically the iron tomb and the riven and queenswalk themes
Edit: You know seeing this much positivity on the forums is really nice.
Yes I did forget Marty O’Donnell at first but I have put him in now after googling him and seeing his musically genius so please stop messaging me

5 通の返信Corrick IIにより編集済み: 8/30/2020 2:08:18 PMD1 has an outstanding soundtrack. D1 expansions had good soundtracks. D2 has had hit or miss soundtracks, ranging from good to mediocre. D1 had countless moments of beauty, thrills and dread in the music. The only time I got excited about the score in D2 was the Riven boss fight (and Bungie couldn’t even be bothered to include that on the album). Everything else has just been “music”. I turned it off a long time ago.

The artistic support of this franchise has always been stellar: Music. Sound design. Voice acting. World creation. Art for weapons and armor. Writing Armor design and writing have drawn some criticism, but that has mainly been driven by personal taste, and dissatisfaction with other areas of the game. (Destiny 1 didn’t have to carry the burden of having lots of Y1 gear dropping as loot in Y3).

Art, sound, UI, animations, even armor design in this game are awesome artifacts of art. Top notch. That is why I am so angry on Game Design team. They are as much incompetent as competent art, sound, animation and ui teams. This game could be best of the best if they only have at least half as awesome CD as their Art Director.

2 通の返信Even though Warmind's title screen made my ears commit die, it's honestly quite good.

1 返信Taken King is still the absolute best they’ve done. The pyramid ship theme is also cool. Very eerie.

<Reading down some of these and, unless I have misinterpreted, there seems to be a lot of people who think specific songs/releases and their general quality can be accredited to one person. It's not. It's a general team effort with very few cases of only one person working on a track. Hell, tracks like "Siege Dancers" and "The Vex" weren't even primarily (he did have a hand in it tho, hence "primarily") composed by Marty, it was Skye. Don't get me wrong, I like Marty's work, but ya'll been sleeping on some TTK and beyond tracks. "Long Live the King" (the best track out of TTK, fight me) wasn't even composed by him at all. Also, D2 has a lot of tracks people don't recognize because they either go unreleased or don't play often in-game (looking at you, Mercury). -blam!-, Nessus has some of the best music in D2. Broaden the scopes a bit. There's more to Destiny music than Y1.>

Yeah definitely the best of any game I’ve played, look no further than Vault phase 3 (last wish), Consecrated Mind, Scarlet Keep strike, Whisper of the Worm mission, Riven (last wish), the Awoken, and Zero Hour.

13 通の返信WOW! No shout out to Luke Smith! I mean come on, let’s be honest here. Luke Smith is an amazing lead game designer and totally deserves 100% credit for all things Destiny. He’s the greatest director of all time, a true GOAT!! Their is no other gaming studio director that has been more laser focused on player feedback and experience than him! I anxiously await his next superb idea and amazing decisions. He’s led this game in direction that can only be described as BRILLIANT!!! Nothing but hit, after hit, after hit! I for one, can’t wait to see how amazing this game will be after another glorious DLC release with his Jedi-like leadership, steering this game into a massive AAAA title.

The Man Bungie tried to screw out of money for his work on Destiny’s Soundtrack. The Day Bungie screwed Joseph Statin and Marty O’Donnell, was the day I knew Bungie would NEVER be the same again. I miss the Bungie I knew.

3 通の返信It’s great. Marty, like many members of the old Bungie team, were disrespected and pushed out. That’s what happened to the actual talented and hardworking people that once dominated Bungie. It’s a virtue signaling - feelings - company now.

1 返信I've never bought a video game soundtrack before. But the destiny franchise (and by extention halo) is the first game that made me consider it. And I almost did, but then i discovered that the sound tracks to all of the games and its expansions are on spotify. This music is just so friggin good, words can't even begin to describe how amazing it is.

2 通の返信Music used to be great in Destiny. Now it’s honestly bad. Normal those people are gone.

3 通の返信Marty is the best of the Destiny bunch...by a mile. And what did Bungo do to him I wonder....!!!

8 通の返信Marty o’ donnell is easily the greatest video game soundtrack composer imo. And it’s not even close.
