Only time will tell. It looks like its going to either be really interesting in PvP or really, really, really bad. But not in between.

😂 They gotta do something to shake up Crucible, man... I mean permanently shake it up. It’s been six years. Their formula clearly doesn’t work. PvP cannot be successful if it’s constantly an afterthought. They need a full-time PvP team again, with devs with a background in competitive shooters. I’m just waiting for the day (which will prob never come) that Bungie realizes that taking PvP seriously is the thing that would take the franchise to the next level.

I’ve noticed longer queue times the last few weeks, but the games haven’t felt that much sweatier. They’re sweatier, but not that bad. I’d say it’s probably the normal population drop that happens at the end of a season. And idk man, it beats me why they continue to use a formula for PvP that hasn’t worked for the 6 years that the franchise has existed.

A_moにより編集済み: 8/28/2020 9:15:46 PMThe only reason I say they changed something is because there's kind of a way to tell by looking at 3rd party sites. Then when it happens you can notice the difference in the distribution of who does and doesn't go positive in the carnage reports. It's not that the matches are sweatier its that its more join in progress, bad shot registration and teams without the right amount of players on at least one of them for half the match. It is around what would usually be the ending of the season though and population has gone down a bit and it is Friday so most people playing Crucible are probably playing Trials. Maybe its just me, I hadn't played much 6v6 in the last week or so. Maybe just rusty. So rusty that I can't make it into the match until my team is down by 40. Just kidding. It has just seemed different ever since the thing that I suspect happens when they change things happened.

The same shit was happening to me all last night. Every match was either super unbalanced teams and a mercy, a join in progress and a mercy, or uneven teams like 4v6 or some shit. And I kept noticing shots not registering and melees shortstopping unusually often. Queue times were super long too. I didn’t think much of it since it was just one night, but that’s odd you had almost the exact same experience. Maybe there is something going on after all.

Yep. And it all started happening like a month or 5 weeks ago on a Thursday. I'm pretty sure of it because you can tell by looking at DT when they might have changed something then you play and everything is slightly different. Also noticed there's been way less complaining about the CBMM on here (and strangely more complaining about "forced" win-loss rates). All I can say for sure is how my matches have been going though. I suddenly started playing against people that I used to always play against under SBMM. The join in progresseseses where my team has no chance of coming back increased. The peculiar shot registration started happening more and the teams have an uneven number of players more often. Not saying SBMM is back, just saying it seems like they tweaked something and it happens this way every single time they do it. There's probably a million different ways they can twerk their equations that run the stuff that has nothing to do with what kind of BMM it is. I will stop with the crackpot theories now, its just that I play this shit a lot and it definitely seems different.

Tbh, after they made the original switch from SBMM I played quite a few matches where someone was there the whole time and scored zero or one or two kills. I just don't see any way they'd leave it to where a sizable portion of the playerbase has that happen to them. Whether they've already changed it or not they definitely listen to the people who don't play PvP that much. Always have, always will. Some people don't want to have to play two extra matches to get their bounties done and they deserve consideration too I guess.
-
I don’t think any kind of SBMM at all is necessary and I’ll stand by that forever, but I and many other players would have no issue if it was implemented much more subtly. Just make a “Proving Grounds” playlist where new players can get their bounties/quests/milestones done, or better yet just have loose SBMM game-wide. Having super aggressive SBMM in all playlists just isn’t the answer.
-
It sure isn't. I don't know what the answer is tbh. What I do know is I just once again loaded into a match where my team was down 9-38 and the other team had a power play. Again. It's always my team being down by 30-40 points. That one ended in a mercy. This is not fun.

RussellManiaにより編集済み: 8/29/2020 12:52:14 AM
lol. I've only played that once and it didn't have a tutorial so I got to get cursed out the whole match in French by someone from France. He cursed me out in English too though. Very considerate of him.
It’s had a tutorial since the beginning lol you may have just not realized it. That’s funny though. I always mute people that are on mic. Apex has its flaws, but at least the devs put effort into making it a competitive multiplayer game. Destiny is my favorite, but Apex is objectively a better PvP game and one of the best out there. You should give it another shot. Grinding ranked is a challenge and will give you something to do during Destiny content droughts. They do a lot of LTM’s to keep things fresh as well. At least one each season.

I can't believe it has a tutorial. I looked for that shit repeatedly. Now if I want to try it again I have to re-download it. Whoops! Honestly, I think I am going to download that again now that I know I can try it without screwing someone else over. It seemed pretty interesting the one or two times I tried to play it but I had no clue really what to do. What I'm not going to do is go on the Apex forum and tell them they should break the game for other people just because I don't know what I'm doing though.
-
Lol yeah, exactly. It’s sad that people have that mindset. Hover over the “Play Apex” panel and instead of pressing triangle to matchmake, press X (or the equivalent of X on your system) and it shows all the game mode options: Regular, ranked, firing range, and the tutorial mode.

A_moにより編集済み: 8/29/2020 1:31:44 AMOk, well I didn't try that when I played last time. I didn't know it had a firing range or a choice between ranked and regular either. I guess that's why I was getting cussed at because I'm pretty sure I was in ranked. The more ya know... Thanks.
