Crucible Meta FUBAR

Fun Unique Best Awesome expeRience That’s what it means. Totally. But on a serious note, why must the player base continue to suffer in the total drag that is the current meta. Pinnacle weapons are being sunset, which should alleviate the primary culprits @mountaintop @revoker, but exotic fusions and primary time to kill imbalance still plague the -now necessary for SoH completion- Trials of Osiris. Arbalest has the lowest skill ceiling of any special weapon on console. It is not difficult to use nor hit the enemy, and it’s aim assist combined with it being hitscan and having a charge rate make it almost impossible to miss. It often headshots when its reticle isn’t even near the head. Wildly irritating to die to, and punishes supers with ease. Conclusion: linear fusions are heavy weapons for a reason; this gun needs less range and aim assist. Disincentivizes sniping, does so much body shot damage that head misses almost always lead to a kill anyway. Bastion does too much damage. In PvE this gun is a joke, but for some reason Bungie thought giving a single guardian six special ammo off spawn was balanced. Three shot nature of saint’s fists removes the skill gap often required to charge and effectively use a fusion rifle. Shreds supers. Perhaps think about scaling damage after repeated hits. I.e. first shot breaks shield, second kills, third for extra dps or insurance, but just hitting one burst shouldn’t be able to kill. The toaster is just dumb. It’s easy to dodge but I swear you could give it to a four year old and they might squeeze away with a lucky kill. I don’t know what to do with it. Vault perhaps. 600 rpm auto rifles have greater range and dps than every primary in the game. If you want to get technical and talk optimal time to kill, an smg or sidearm may take the cake, but I and everyone in this forum knows that these guns in their current state are both of the easiest to use and the most practical primary choice. They flinch, there is a next to no penalty for missing a shot, and the range is extreme. They are pushing well within pulse rifle range, and fully automatic fire has a tendency to wrap around corners and latch onto guardians with aim assist. Suros regime, to compound that, has spinning up, which - while cool in Destiny 1 - fundamentally breaks the game, ripping all other primaries apart, and even healing you. I want the game to be balanced, but Bungie needs to make a decision now whether balance rests in fast D1 TTKs, or slow D2 TTKs. Auto rifles and sidearms cannot fall into D1 while all others fall into D2. Just decide what system is best and bring all primaries up to par to avoid the spray and pray hell that currently dominates.
