Umbral Engrams Focusing System also for Shaxx, Zavala, Lord Saladin and other Vendors?
Hello Guardians and Bungie!
One of the things that I'm appreciating more of this Season is the Focusing System for Umbral Engrams.
The idea that I can actually influence what I'm going to get from an Engram is quite cool and makes the grind less Stressful. Also, it would be even better is we could Focus stats on Weapons other then Armor Pieces.
I was wondering: why don't try to implement a similar System also for other Vendors such as Shaxx, Zavala, Lord Saladin, Saint-14 ecc? I believe that many players would eventually appreciate the possibility to influence the Iron Banner drop from Engrams instead of using an old and outdated system such as Tokens.
But this is only my prospective. What do you Guardians think about it? How would you implement this system? Would you modifie it somehow? Do you think this coud eventually bring problems?

1 返信I think that's a great idea! I would like to change the fact that the only stay that's high is the stat that you focused the engram into. I think the should also make the other stats high but somewhat lower than the initial focus.

1 返信I think we need to be careful when suggesting systems like these become universal. We had that same idea when weapon bounties came out and we quickly became sick of it. Loot should be earned in diverse ways, this creates subtle depth and prevents the game from becoming robotic and transactional. Having multiple systems in harmony is better than having one system make the game one-dimensional.

2 通の返信Apart from iron banner, nothing’s changed in any other vendor since god knows when (and iron banner is following that trend now), if they brought new gear and weapons then what your suggesting would be great.

1 返信No this is a terrible idea (gimme gimme, gimme attitude) that's just watering down the game. They just need to refresh the vendors every 3 months or something.

2 通の返信How about just being able to select weapons or armour like D1? And while they're at it, remove world loot drops from those vendors and make them vendor specific ffs... Zavala should drop Vanguard weapons ONLY, Shaxx crucible weapons ONLY etc.

11 通の返信No. The umbral focusing feature is not as good as anyone thinks it is. We've had modes like Menagerie and even Sundial that let you actual pick the reward you want. This made farming so much better. Now, we have a system with a 50/50 chance of getting the item you want. Just no. I can't tell you how many swords I ended up with trying to get a decent pulse rifle roll. One time I turned in 8 engrams and got 2 pulse rifles and 6 swords. Biungie seem to have no idea how to handle reward RNG and just keep trying something different every season. This isn't the answer. I don't want a 50/50 chance to get a reward out of an already random drop.

1 返信Exactly man I've been asking for this too, this is what was awesome with this season and also the possiblity to get more loot for once and then to control what you get. :) I would like to see this for the vendors aswell as you mention. :)

2 通の返信How about we get actual vendor stocks in the first place again? The EDZ, Titan, Io, Nessus, Mercury, and Mars all have vendors that have items that we can purchase or rank up and get rewarded with. Why the shit do vendors we rarely ever interact with outside of quests and campaigns get that, and the Tower ones don't? MOST OF THEM ARE BEING REMOVED WHEN BEYOND LIGHT LAUNCHES TOO!

2 通の返信Good idea! Since Bungie cannot be bothered to thank or interact with members of the community who offer suggestions and feedback I will do it for them. "Thank you for providing feedback. We appreciate the input and will pass it along to the team" Maybe one day Bungie will actually understand that interacting with their community like this will create a better community. With that out of the way I like your idea. To go one step further you could keep the decoder in the same area, but rotate which vendor we can focus on a weekly basis. So one week could be Vanguard, one week Shaxx and other weeks planets or other vendors. Additionally if they actually made new gear for each vendor that would be even better.
