As a Hunter main, Titans need help. (Part 1: Titan Barricade)
Used to main titan back in Y1. Somewhere in between then and now got onto Hunter. Just went to play Titan today and now I see why I'm still playing Hunter. Seriously, Titans need help. Specifically with their class ability. There was no subclass perk among all the subclasses that dealt specifically with their class ability, the barricade (i.e., Top tree nightstalker: dodge to get invisible, top tree arcstrider, dodge to increase melee range, etc) maybe something like use your barricade and you and your teams shields charge faster while near or behind it. Or you move faster while near it. Or kills from behind barricade or while a barricade is out extend its duration/health pool. Just some ideas.
Just one of many other things I'm sure I'm not even aware of that could be helped for the titans. Again, from a Hunter mains perspective.

2 通の返信With regards to "titans need help," they just need to be more diverse. Look at hunters: a class for melee, a class for range and a class for utility. Then look at titans: A class for punching that melees with the super, a class for punching that you melee with a shield, and a class for punching but they throw hammers in super. They are just...so much of the same that you don't even need to worry about playing differently. And that's what hurts them in crucible and pve as a whole. Theres no mixing up your playstyle to suit specific situations, it's all just clap and smash. Which isn't a bad thing because theyve greatly accommodated titans specialty well by making it strong...but it's boring and predictable. I get it, the big dumb "book upside-down" punching -blam!- should specialize, but ones GOTTA not be like a drooling idiot.

1 返信They have Titans geared toward melee for everything in D2 pve. It's an extremely boring and easy playstyle. Ward of Dawn is handy, but that's about it. Arc with dunemarchers is really about the best you can do.

1 返信Holy shite... a well thought out post. It is true, Titans need help, but don’t say it too loud, the try hards will just point out how OP an exotic is or complain about shoulder charge. Oh well, glad you pointed it out.

1 返信Im actually glad to read someone speaks up about it. Not bad ideas either but the only thing I actually would want for barricades is to spawn faster. Like almost instant. A hunters dodge is instantaneous, so should a barricade pop too (and warlocks rift all the same). The amount of times I’m staring at my dead ghost ‘just’ when i popped my Barricade standing in an attempt to save myself is ridiculous.

1 返信I play all three classes fairly equally. Titans by far need the most work. I have a list I could lay out but I’m too lazy to do that. The most recent thing I realized as an issue with Titans is whats considered their “primary” stat. It should probably go from Resilience to Strength. Res is a fairly useless stat now. All classes probably want to have a little in that category but it’s not worth fully investing in.

Subsection 5 states quite clearly that “Hunters are required at all times to demand that Titans receive nerfs, whether or not the aforementioned nerfs have any justification”. You are hereto forthwith to surrender your cloak and any other fashionable accoutrements pending a full investigation. The Hunter Council is also investigating reports that you have been sighted with an empty packet of crayola branded crayons and wearing a scabby bath towel during combat. These allegations are quite serious and I suggest you consult your legal council to prepare to defend these charges

Hunters immediately start moving as dodge casts (mobility). On top of that, they get melee ability/reload AND a subclass benefit (except solar) on a short cd. Comparatively, Titans should gain max resilience or a small overshield during the cast animation of barricade. Rally barricade should also reload equipped weapons. Locks, my main, need to instantly begin healing or recover a chunk of health during the cast animation of ANY rift. We both could also benefit from faster cast animations and some unique subclass interactions. It's like their balancing team doesn't understand the concept of equity.

4 通の返信The only thing I can think of is ability regeneration from mid tree sentinel. Personally I use the barricade all the time because I love alpha lupi heals. I just wish the animation was faster. If anything gets me killed more it is the slow animation. If there was more synergy with subclass perks that would be fun too. Right now there is only so much to be gained by having 3 barricades up at once haha

I agree that Rally Barricade needs help. Even in the most appropriate situations (raid boss DPS), it's still not good. At this point, it should just be redesigned into something else. Towering is another story. It does what it's supposed to do. Its ability to block off lanes in PvP is a very potent tool on top of the Titan's already solid kit. Slapping buffs onto it is asking for trouble.

These would be great but honestly I’d even just settle for a faster barricade setup speed. Putting your barricade up is locking you into an animation that makes you a sitting duck for like a sold 2-3 seconds.

It works alright in pvp but in pve it’s crap. Splash damage always gets around it, so even as a panic save it’s a half n half gamble. Its bad enough they’ve left resilience, the supposed Titan stat, as utter garbage all these years. Our class ability is only good for...pvp revival.

6 通の返信Titan barricade -blam!-ing worthless it's only good for Reviving teammates in trials and even then that's a big if they don't slide through your shield and shotgun you in the face needs to be replaced with something else like a Twilight Garrison Dodge

They're sturdy enough, provide enough cover for you to regroup or protect something, and titans have two exotics that affect their barricades, Citan's which weakens the overall durability but allows ally rounds to penetrate, and heart of innermost light, which buffs your next ability after using an ability, allowing baricades to become more durable. The real crux to Titan class ability, 13% shield increase from 100 resilience is useless in PVE, you're only going for the cooldown reduction if you're building up resilience, and the short wall was nerfed out of the game. I'm not saying the short barrier needs to reload weapons like it used to, but IDK anyone that cares about the reload speed buff provided by the short barrier. It's just not more beneficial than actual cover imo. To sum up, Resilience isn't a worthwhile enough stat to focus, and the alternate to tower barrier is effectively useless by comparison.

2 通の返信From an actual Hunter main, not a convert: They don't need any help. How they are is how they're supposed to be. Titans both hide behind and defend the city wall. Their role is defense or heavy assault. Not both at once. Warlocks study the city wall. Their role is support. Hunters find their way around the city wall and fight beyond it. Their role is quick hit and run attacks.

9 通の返信Wrong. The barricade isn't meant for support. It's meant for defense. As a Titan main. Trust me, if we got our health back after popping a big shield that can defend from most attacks. All the trash hunters will be up in arms about it. And I'll tell you why that is. Because hunters can't handle the crutches being anywhere outside their own class. Fight me. You know I'm right.
