I feel like most people who argue against posts like this are in denial. As there’s no way people actually think bungie’s sunsetting is good for the game in any capacity.
I could maybe see people being on board when everybody thought sunsetting was being put in place to help the power creep (that still doesn’t exist). But now that we know sunsetting only exists to recycle gear so that bungie doesn’t have to be as creative and doesn’t have to work as hard creating new gear, I don’t see how people defend it.
I’ve just stopped caring about it. It is gonna happen wither way. I’ve spent most my time this season getting used to weapons that will last into year 4. There will be more gear, ill just use that
I’m mixed when it comes to sun setting as it was obvious from the start the whole point of it was not coz they are lazy and just want to recycle old gear it’s because they are so desperately trying to get out of the mess that they made by not balancing ritual weapons before putting them in the game.
Sun setting is definitely necessary for the game as what is the point in Bungie creating new weapons if we are just gonna stick with our mind benders and only drop it for a shotgun that was busted in D1. So when it comes to that I agree with it.
Where I don’t agree with it and think it is the most stupid and feel it isn’t being talked enough about is the idea of sun setting armour as armour takes a considerably longer amount of time to get with a high roll. Then to farm the materials to upgrade the gear and do that 3 more times for each pieces of armour as a class item isn’t really as hard to get.
So in short I don’t mind that I won’t see my god roll spare rations anymore but I don’t like that my armour will go especially as cosmetics won’t matter as everything will be transmogrified.
The main way this will fail is if the game come September fails to have a massive vendor refresh adding new weapons and armour for vanguard crucible gambit and open world sources.
