Because 90% of the community know the real reason behind sunsetting. To resell you the weapon you grinded for with the same rolls and everything to pad how much gear they are actually releasing with every dlc/season. I mean look at their reason why they arnt making a d3. "We dont want players to have to start over and re earn a bunch of gear again." Isnt that what sunsetting basically does regardless but just on an annual basis at least for armor. When in reality the reason they dont want to d3 is because 1.) Theyd have no excuse to rebuild their entire engine they've had problems with for 6 years especially with new consoles coming out. 2.) Its easier to port over d1 assets into d2 this way and only make minimal actually new content. 3.) They cant handle making an entirely new game on their own if they cant even keep up with seasons. Truth is we know the reason why they arnt responding is because they have ran out of b.s to try and feed us.

I'm not gonna lie to you but from watching Bungie's recent decisions and actions I'm pretty sure some of the people working there aren't quite all there in the head... if you get what I mean?

Reasons are twofold. 1. They have run the numbers and realise they will still make cash with this minimal effort laziness. 2. Minimal talent, innovation and passion. Without sunsetting (and reusing fabulous content from their predecessors) there will be so little to do, so little to chase, so few reasons to log on and buy shiny EV crap. I suppose that's one reason really...they are firmly rooted to charging for garbage F2P quality.

I'll tell you why. Bungie wants to have both ways. they want to sell you the game, expansions, DLC (AKA Bag of chips), push micro-transactions, "seasons", and get away with taking content off D2 because is all more convenient for them.

Realistically the system is very likely already completed and almost ready to ship, changing it now would cause a significant delay. They'll probably give it a go and push it through then take community feedback later once we actually have tried the system.

This company is stubborn. They will do it and they will do it anyways no matter what you say. They've already planned it. I don't know what you guys know about the world but this is how a business works. They will not tell you everything. Sometimes they give out minor details and info but that's only for PR BS. You'll never know what's the truth. Never. That's how the real world works. Sunsetting is not about powercreep. There is no powercreep problem. You know why?. . . Because there will always be a powercreep in the game! Powercreep is built into the system of the game. It always is present. It's called a Metagame. When you introduce a Meta in a game, that itself promotes powercreep. These 2 things go hand in hand together. When you discover a gun is powerful, you will use that gun all the time. Why?. . . Because it is efficient. When you see a much better roll, you will do everything to get it, promote it, and then use it all the time. That's what you call having a Meta and powercreep together at the same time. Sunsetting doesn't change that. If you really know Destiny and you've been playing this game really well. This is still going to happen. The only difference is that they control what the Meta is. They can do that because it only lasts for 1 year. Gears that becomes Meta and has a tendency for powercreep only lasts for 1 year now. They control that, so they control their artificial creativity. Which is giving you the same powerful guns that you feel are new creations but really aren't. That's their solution for their creative gun problem. They cannot give you exceedingly powerful guns over and over. It will break the game. So they decided to control it and give it a life cycle. Just to reintroduce a variety of different guns that are just as equal as the ones you've had before. They may look different and have different archetypes. But they will just have the same effect as the ones you've had before. Different carrot, but they all tastes the same. Now they control that, so they also control you. You are going to be in this perpetual hamster wheel. But now they are dangling different looking carrots in front of you, but when you eat it, they all tastes the same. 2 cents. Cheers!

You know I as just thinking that their lack of response is a bit frustrating. Additionally, none of the team responded to some positive topics that I posted with some ideas and I even linked them on twitter for them. Not even a thank you for your post or ideas! Why have forums and Twitter if you are not going to respond or even say thank you to people who send positive ideas your way.

Pay 1200 silver every month and your gear will always be viable

If Bungie is sunsetting weapon, why the heck do they drop the same freaking weapons with different power level cap? Just forcing user to grind, i will hold out on getting beyond light.

Simple. They simply don’t care. I don’t even know what next season brings. So many in my clan aren’t getting the next dlc. So the numbers will continue to dwindle.

This is their plan. They don't care about the majority of us. They just need to appease the small percentage of people that defend them, because those are the people that buy from and support them the most. They're Bungies whales. They just need the fall expansions to be good enough for the widespread community. It's genius really: they just need to make something worthwhile every September to draw in the community, which will act as a yearly "game" like call of duty. Then, throughout the year, all they have to do is whatever the hell they want in order to milk their obedient little moneycuccs.

They seem to be more interested in getting us to buy pins to support blm than actually focussing on their game and answering the communities questions. People are rightfully worried about sunsetting and they don't seem to care about acknowledging these concerns. In D1 we worked our backsides off to get to where we were by the end of RoI. Then they announced D2, took that 3 years of effort and threw it in the bin. Ok, so maybe activision wanted to turn it into a franchise but bungie wanted one ever-evolving game. Fair enough, they're splitting from activision. So now they are no longer associated with AV so none of their mistakes can be blamed on them. Bungie is asked about a possible sequel in D3 and they say that they are dedicated to D2 and don't want to stick another number on a box and make us lose our progress all over again. But the file size is getting too large so what is their idea? The destiny content vault A.K.A "DCV". So content gets vaulted in order to bring new stuff. What are we trading? Mercury, IO, leviathan, titan and mars along with all of their quests and associated items and activities. What do we get in return? Two zones. Kinda seems like a bad deal but that isn't the worst part because weapons will be vaulted too. Weapons we spent a long time trying to get perfect rolls on and exotics we put a lot of effort into getting because of horrible quest steps. Raid weapons like 1k voices that people ran a raid over and over to get. They said they didn't want us to lose everything again so they wouldn't make a destiny 3. So we're just going to lose everything in destiny 2 instead and will have to farm for it again when it comes out of the vault. Rehashing old content so they don't have to put as much effort into newer stuff. I see the writing on the wall already. People are angry and rightfully so. We, the players are the one's who buy bungie's content and keep this game afloat and i think we're entitled to a couple answers considering it is those people who stuck with bungie through thick and thin through all the BS they've pulled. I've been with this franchise since the very first beta for destiny 1 back on xbox 360 and i know there are many here in the same boat. I've asked bungie for nothing for the 7 years that I've invested into this franchise but this has gone too far now. They've got no activision to blame anymore and they need to stand up and take responsibility for their actions.

I like sunsetting. I think people are blowing it far out of proportions. As a pretty hardcore player, I am so happy that the pinnacle weapons are going away. I feel like this gives Bungie an opportunity to make better loot that people will actually use for once. I personally believe raid loot especially needs to be better.

Its happening so please stop crying. Litteraly every loot based game does this.
