So, after a shower this morning, I had a bit of realisation. Maybe Bungie's mistake was making Legendaries more important than Exotics. Pinnacle weapons like Recluse are one reason, but the other? Anti-Champion mods. There are next to no Exotic weapons with Anti-Champion perks, with the only ones I know of being [b]Eriana's Vow, Divinity and Leviathan's Breath.[/b] In most RPGs and MMOs, it is always a trend that the highest tier of rarity exists for [i]the best[/i] items of each type. In Destiny's case, weapons like Gjallarhorn and Vex Mythoclast were considered the best in field and were sought after by everyone. Not a whole lot was talked about in regards to the game's Legendary weapons, but it was known around then that Legendary gear was meant to compliment not only your playstyle, but the Exotic you chose. My idea is twofold: 1) Buff all Exotics back into being the superior weapons of the current meta. They're not going anywhere and there is only so many for Bungie to worry about. All Legendary gear needs to supplement the Exotics you use, but they should not be the priority of the grind. Treat them like stepping stones to the real good shit wrapped in the gold-yellow of an Exotic Engram. 2) Give every Exotic Weapon an Anti-Champion perk like Eriana's Vow. This will return the entirety of the Exotic Weapon pool to a state of usefulness and build synergy. This will also save costs on mods [b]somewhat[/b]. If need be, make the perk a part of the Catalyst. This is will add another reason to chase the Catalyst. As for those pinnacle Legendary weapons and the like, I think there will need to be some deliberation as to which ones are more important to keep and buff up into the Exotic rarity.
