I don't think that was the issue being raised.
Could you say the same thing about ornaments and armor?
I'm curious what the rationale is. What benefit does the game have of retiring armor with preferred stats and even armor 1.0 with enhanced perks and ammo finders/scavengers for every weapon type and combination that one could choose, and doesn't get phased out after the end of a season without having to equip or dismantle any mods.
This will eventually disappear from us.
Before another reader chimes in and says,"you really only need new higher level gear when doing high level activities or power-level sensitive activities..."
Try patrolling with low level gear. Run into a VIP target with gear much lower than it. Try to make a public event heroic solo, or find that lost sector that has Nightmares now, and use really old or under leveled gear.
Run that new event on IO as a 750. I'm sure EVERYONE there will understand patrolling is not end-game and will thank you for not being the highest power level you can be.
Wait, what? You won't run gear that severely under-levels you for even a measly patrol?
What activity is "lower" on the scale of difficulty than patrols?
Has patrolling become end-game?
So your argument is that the amount of farming required to getting max level gear and then having to re-max level your gear is fine as it is? Imo, I think there's plenty of incentive in farming for new gear and weapons as it is, especially with the crazy amount of activities you can play farming all sorts of different weapons, exotic catalysts and gear.
On top of that, you think everyone should continually invest more time farming for materials to max every piece of gear and weapon they plan on using? In your mind, there isn't enough farming?
Or do you think there should be greater incentive to farm? Maybe players should invest even more time farming for materials, rather than playing the game as they want to play it. Because why improve a game in the first place? I mean it's a game, why are you so "invested" in a game to spend 10 minutes to post on the forums asking for an improvement to it?
I find it funny, that all the arguments against it never address the main point directly and instead range from "why do you have a problem with it?" to "stop crying". I don't think in this thread I have seen a single argument as to why exactly refunding materials would make the game worse in any way.
