Sunsetting, like armor 2.0, is a wholesale nerf.

Armor 2.0 lowered stat maximums by 30%. What was 0 in 1.0 required 30 in 2.0. You can really notice it when you compare the old 100 recovery to the current 100 recovery. A major nerf. In the twab they say on one hand they want us to chase “powerful” (their word) gear yet on the other they say ttk, the generic benchmark for weapon effectiveness, can’t be any lower. So if we are at the max ttk...then nothing in the future will be more powerful then what we have now. Otherwise, the ttk would drop and they said they don’t want that. So how do they plan on giving you the feeling of earning gear that is “powerful” when they can’t make anything more powerful then we have now? Well the only option is to nerf weapons. Either directly by damage values or by upping enemy health, wholesale across the board. I’m leaning towards buffing enemies. Lowering damage values would be obvious since they appear on screen and they’d get called out. Slowly upping enemy health between now and then...less likely to be noticed. That’s the only way to actually feel more powerful. Just like 2.0 did. Lower the minimum and maximum. We jumped into SK obviously weaker then before, grinded for awhile then got that feeling back, despite the fact that the maximum was 30% lower. Because you adjust to the difference during the grind. Except for the crap ass recovery, that is still painfully obvious. As a cqc striker Titan, I’ve relied on max (or the hard limit) recovery for years. So keep this in mind. Bungies idea of a reality bending space magic avoiding cosmic extinction game is progressively making you weaker over time. That just coincidentally makes their job easier...I’m sure that didn’t factor into anything. Meanwhile they continue to find more and more ways to monetize in game actions. They give us less content at a lower quality while holding out there hand for more and more money. Ha! 😎

  • MC 077 Lasombra you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

    • Because Bungie was spreading the power in the game more evenly rather than piling it up in a few areas. The result is there is more room for build crafting and individual creativity rather “stack up damage mods and run the meta.” I’m currently running a Warmind cell build and when they combined thoughtfully there are some ridiculously powerful builds possible. I didn’t realize until yesterday that one of my builds had a 23 Discipline. I hadn’t noticed it because I was generating WMCs at such a rate that I had little use for my grenades. Since I was getting all of the AoE damage I could want from detonating WMCs. Part of the problem here is so many of you want this game to play like Destiny 1, and this game won’t play that way. But it lets you do a lot of cool shit that was never possible in D1.

      • You can max out resilience recovery and mobility all at the same time now though. Could you do that before?

        • Exactly. And yes from time to time you notice stuff like that. Enemys take longer to kill, their attacks are more powerful ( or you are just weaker ). They do all that crap and never mention a thing. Yeah yeah the dumb guardians won't notice....and if who cares....not bungie.

          • Question: Are you still running armor 1.0 sets or have you moved up to armor 2.0? I think the 4th mod slot (which now extends to 3 seasons) more than offsets any changes from armor 1.0 > armor 2.0. At least affinity isn’t as much as an issue now (since you can reassign with materials) and the seasonal mod that was originally limited per season was expanded to -1/0/+1 seasons. It’s also not as mission critical for masterworking armor sets. Most of us are still collecting pieces to maximize the base stats (I’ve only got a few combinations that yield 320 points when potentially masterworked).

            • They’re actually trying to make the game LESS monetized. Removing themed content from eververse, Adding more bright dust, Adding transmog, Etc. The game is trying to take none of your money. Stop jumping to absurd, uninformed, ridiculous, nonsensical, stereotypical, pessimistic, biased conclusions.

              • They already have m8.noticed after update that i'm taking slightlly more damage than before and higher end adds taking slightlly less damage. My favorite was one of the knights on the Tangled Shore, take him down to minimal health and as i reload back to full health and full shields.Tried this a couple of times, same every time. This has never happend before.
