If you have to pick your poison, why not pick the more enjoyable one? While I don’t speak for everyone, I’m willing to bet that I speak for many and I would rather play Destiny while feeling overpowered than play this game while feeling like I’m made of paper and shooting Nerf guns. You act like “power creep” is such a problem that needs to be avoided at all costs (debatable) yet you have no problem nerfing everything to the point of uselessness (an equal, if not bigger, problem). You act like you’re trying to find a “balance” but all you’re doing is sucking the fun out of this game! Do any of you people actually play this game or are you just staring at charts and graphs!? “Fun” is not something that you capture on a stat sheet Bungie! “Fun” is arguably the most important thing worth safeguarding and it’s the one thing you’re completely overlooking! Start listening! Like, ACTUALLY listening.

3 通の返信Power creep only affects the top 2-3% of players. Nerfing removes the fun from the other 97%.

2 通の返信See, the reason power creep doesn’t exist now is because bungie is creating weapons that aren’t as good as old ones. If bungie creates weapons that aren’t as good as old ones, no one uses them... ever. If bungie creates weapons that are better than old ones, people use them, but bungie has to keep creating better, and better, and better, and better weapons. That is power creep.

where is the fun bungie from d1? they were experimental, everything felt like a mystery and a reward, and there’s so much rewards and a lot of those are pretty decent. in d2 we have lackluster loot that’s been the same for a long time. From what i’ve watched from d1, the missions were cool, the raids gave good loot with ways to get them, and the raids were somewhat complex (idk, i’ve only watched them) and had better mechanics beyond “shoot this, shoot that, move, shoot this, pray to RNGesus”).

2 通の返信Emurinusにより編集済み: 5/7/2020 4:37:43 AMThis is just my opinion on general item balancing regarding the game.
Powercreep wouldn't be as much of an issue if item buffs/reworks were more careful. Imo, if Bungie isn't sure how to buff something though, then I'd prefer it be left alone rather than buffing it anyways; that's where powercreep typically becomes an issue. Sometimes this can be inevitable even with careful balancing, but the risk is generally smaller than just lazily slapping +/- stats on something and hoping it works. Reworks are more volatile depending on what idea is considered. Can't really guarantee anything here aside from careful playtesting. Nerfing should be prioritized for the legitimately overpowered items in the game before anything else, NOT simply by popularity. If Bungie isn't sure how to properly nerf something, but some kind of nerf is necessary, going overboard is better than being too light and it remaining a problem (OEM is a good example of the latter). Nerfs should still be carefully considered when possible though, and preferably it should be isolated to only the problematic items.
1 返信They really should make stats have a bigger impact. Speccing into resilience should make you be able to actually tank a significant amount of damage. Strength should actually increase the amount of damage your melee/melee abilities do. To counter this, make more difficulty levels. This way, the better gear you get from a certain difficulty, makes the player actually feel they're getting more powerful until they're ready for the next difficulty.

4 通の返信The best power creep was during Black Armory. Weapons were powerful and strong and WORTH getting. Those seraph weapons are pathetic, and I only have them in my inventory because they have a chance to spawn warmind cells. Most of the archetypes the Seraph weapons occupy are not so great, and it only gets worse when you find out their roll possibilities.

5 通の返信I mean, Bungie doesn't have the resources to implement damage numbers above 999,999 per hit, so.... what are we expecting?
-
1 返信They would have to make content that isn’t just old content with tankier enemies.

1 返信If you dummies wouldn't -blam!- about anything that kills you we could get fun and interesting weapons. But you all can't help yourselves and here we are.

5 通の返信The Hermit IXにより編集済み: 5/6/2020 12:43:51 AMPower creep isn’t an issue in the game. If it was players would be using the new weapons over older ones. They don’t because they’re balls deep in the go slow part 2 era. They could put out new weapons that are equally powerful but they put out weaker ones to make balancing easier in the future. If they were really afraid of power creep they’d make an end game light level and institute side kick leveling each season. So we get less powerful weapons, shorter supers, less powerful abilities and weapon retirement. Game is in awful place.

3 通の返信It's because we're to strong that nothing is engaging. I haven't turned on volume in D2 in a month... because I haven't needed it, that's how easy it's gotten.

3 通の返信Destiny 1 definitely had way more power fantasy and thats because almost everything was viable and really fun to use. Exotics felt like exotics, legendaries were sometimes as strong as recluse or lunas on its prime days, weapons like queenbreakers were on the special slot, exotics like obsidian mind returned your whole super if you got a full 6 man kill on crucible etc. D2 has completely removed the power we once had and thats because they keep catering to players wanting nerfs and afraid of this bs power creep. What power creep exactly have we really encountered in destiny? Recluse at its time was the best thing in the game because every other weapon sucked. Now we have auto rifles like suros with an even faster ttk than recluse now and suddenly thats ok.
