I’ve never hated this game so much
I’m a Destiny fanboy. I’ve been a fanboy since D1 Y1 and Bungie has just killed my love for the game this year. Bungie doesn’t listen and they don’t understand their own IP! Honestly screw the season pass and the bounty grind and your seraph towers and your sundial. Charge we thirty bucks and refresh the vendors, bring Black Armory, Reckoning, THE RAIDS, all the past endgame stuff, up to current light. You can make all your stupid Eververse garbage and give us content at current level. Cut it with this BS and give us back the content this game power crept out of back. GIVE US LOOT. IF I WANTED TO GRIND MENIAL TASKS FOR A TINY BIT OF XP ALL YEAR ID PLAY A MOBILE GAME.
Edit: I’m glad I’ve gotten to see so many different opinions on this and I’ll happily say I’ve uninstalled D2. I’m back on D1 and finally getting to the Witcher.

Been playing on an alt New Light account recently and have reached the same point as my main account. All the stuff played and only the LL/Artefact grind left. So... I miss the mystery and atmosphere of D1, there are just no beguiling or unexpected surprises in the game - if I climb up there I just know there’s nothing new there. No intriguing mystery, no new piece of lore, no abandoned Golden Age weapon/armour I could upgrade over time and bring back into service. Bungie have listened too hard to the ‘gamification’ psychs and their rejected PhD proposals regarding what consumers want from a game. This consumer does not get all funky over endless repetition of the same activities for meagre rewards or immersion breaking ‘holiday events’ based on exactly the same model of repetition. It is just so -blam!-ing boring. What happened to the story, mystery, intrigue and just plain old joy of discovery in this game? I’m not talking some OP game-breaking thing I didn’t ‘earn,’ just something engaging that would break the repetitive format; not get 5000 head-shot kills with a -blam!-ing sword in Crucible only on the second Tuesday of any month beginning with the letter D! -blam!- off!!! Maybe throw some of that Eververse cosmetic stuff out into the world (the world acquired shaders on the planets have never been refreshed since D2Y1!) a stealth mission, a player/npc interaction or two, maybe some vocalised lore given by npc’s (not -blam!-ing Toland droning some guff about death ffs!). Just something different

Only reason I'm even here is because I was curious if tuning in just for Guardian Games might be a fun way to kill time. Turns out it's literally just bounties. That's it. That's the WHOLE event. So nope. I refuse to play a game that gives me a time limit and says "If you don't play X hours this week, you lose something forever." When the holiday events were all this ever applied to, and they were just small bursts of activity for me now and then I was fine with it. But that's literally what seasons are. You have a limited time to get unique weapon rolls, play activities, obtain triumphs etc. before it all goes away forever. I want to play the game on MY OWN time. And this model burned me out so hard that I'm just done, and unless the model is changed I am not coming back.

4 通の返信I’ve sunk more hours than I’ll ever care to admit into the Destiny franchise, and it’s because I loved it. But suddenly, as in the last few months, I’ve lost all interest. It’s no one thing, but more like death by a thousand cuts. I can’t bring myself to dismantle another blue. Or spend 10 minutes traveling over hill and dale to buy another mindless bounty. i won’t earn another currency that expires in a few months. Nor will I work to unlock armor I already had. And the quality of the patches lately is a real turn off. Seriously, I never thought I’d see the day (and during quarantine, of all times!!!) but I have no interest in picking up any of my 3 characters.

Sad to say I 100% agree. Destiny 2 has been my only game since Vanilla launch. I've put in over 1600 hours and it has been the best game of my very long gaming life (since 1986 on C64) and I'm sad to say apart from the odd bit of PvP I'm pretty much done until things change. I liked Vanilla more - how is that possible, Forsaken was the best period. I liked that I could take a break and come back when I wanted without guilt and FOMO. It's now like a mobile game, yes. If you don't play you get punished - it's more stressful than my job! It feels like a group of undergraduate psychology students tried to work out a way to manipulate the player base into committing the most time, without actually considering that would be totally unsustainable. I've started to hate the game I love. I even bought *whisper it* Division 2 to try out! That's how bad it is!

I share this sentiment... Bungie, focus on what great content you already have and make it better. After all, ally you're currently doing is reskinning old content and selling it as new. I'd rather them purposefully announce that they're working to improve Gambit, the Forges, old raids (difficulty modes and updated Y2 loot, and loot/reward enhancements than what they're doing now..

2 通の返信Sadly every complaint about this game is spot on. Destiny has slipped into pure trash. No content, no fun, nothing rewarding just the get -blam!-ed feeling of being the guardian hour farm for a worthless company. Bungie couldn't get any lower and they are to clueless to figure out

I made it this far. I had no break in year 1, I took Forsaken and the Drifter season off in year 2, and I took 4 weeks off collectively last Season. I think after I get the new exotic from this event, I will take off till next Season. The last triumph in the Almighty Seal is too difficult for me, so I will forever be one away from an unobtainable seal after this season.

I don’t hate the game but I sure don’t like what Bungie has done to it. It’s an insult to what Destiny was meant to be at launch. I just stopped playing altogether, hoping one day it’ll fall under a new director that will bring it back to the space opera it started out as, not this soulless grind fest.

Microtransactions, loot boxes, season passes, menial grinding with no rewards or useless rewards, nothing truly new or unique....everything is just sterile and seemingly pointless. Bungie should look towards successful RPG's vs following in CoD or Fortnite's footsteps.
