Radeon RX 5700 XT compatibility issues?

Hey guys, I'm not 100% sure if this is a Destiny 2 issue or an AMD issue but based off the fact I can play every other game just fine I have a feeling it may be on Destiny's end or maybe on both ends? So basically what happens is two issues. One I believe is definitely an AMD issue as it was fixed in April of 2018 on the 18.5.1 update: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-18-5-1 (Destiny™2 may experience increasing load time durations when the game is run for extended periods of time.) While playing the game will start to take forever to load into any activity, but once I'm in the activity everything works fine. However loading into the activities can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes, it's so bad sometimes my friends are halfway through a strike before I get into the session. The other issue is the one I'm unsure of who's at fault. Pretty much on every driver release from AMD since launch I have been unable to play Destiny 2 without the game just randomly crashing my PC and causing the system to just straight reboot. No error codes, no blue screen, not just powering off, it just straight up reboots. I underclocked my GPU and have undervolted it (remained rock stable running 6 hours of Superposition stress test). It makes no sense because there isn't one other game that does this, and I just don't know what to do as far as getting this resolved. The specs for the custom PC I built are: Mobo: Asus Prime Pro X470 CPU: Ryzen 3600X GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon 5700 XT RAM: G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200mhz 16GB (2x8GB) HDD: WD Black SN750 1TB nVme PSU: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 650W, BN651, Modular, 80 Plus Platinum I upgraded my older 750W PSU thinking maybe it was old and under performing because it was doing the same exact thing.

 • I know this thread is several weeks old now, but I just thought I'd share what appears to be my solution for this same issue. I just started playing on PC a couple weeks ago. (Been on Console since launch). Just built two desktops, one for my son and one for myself. His was working fine, but after changing some settings around, I started experiencing hard crashes every 10 minutes or so and my temps were fine as I was running NZXT CAM software. It took some tinkering, but I am almost certain at this point that I identified the issue for my system specifically. I run dual 27" monitors and have other applications open on the second monitor (e.g. DIM, & others). Being newer to PC gaming, having been on console for 20+ years, I am still playing around with settings. I realized a few days in that if I changed my Window Mode within the game's video settings from Full Screen, to Windowed Full Screen, it was easier to move between applications. However, I made several other changes to video settings at the same time so I wasn't sure why my PC started crashing shortly thereafter, I just new it had to do with the video settings I had changed. After a couple hours of isolating one variable at a time and crashing 4-5 times, I changed my video Window Mode from Windowed Full Screen to Windowed. Ultimately, this means I have a small menu bar across the top of the screen, which isn't ideal. However, after crashing repeatedly every 10 minutes for an hour or so, I have now played approximately 3-4 hours without a single issue since changed my Window Mode to Windowed, and away from Windowed Full Screen. This may not resolve the issue for every one, but it certainly seemed to resolve the issue for me. *I did read threads about the possibility of under-volting the GPU possibly assisting with this issue, but I really didn't want to get into that if I could avoid it so I was trying to isolate all other variables first. Surprisingly, this seemed to have worked for me. My son is running a different desktop with different specs that we built for him which includes an AMD 3400G APU and he has had zero issues while playing simultaneously in a fireteam with me. For the sake of comparison the specs for the PC I built are: MOBO: Gigabyte Aorus Elite Wifi X570 CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700X GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC 5700XT Memory: Trident Z-Neo G.Skill 3600 cl16 SSD: 2TB ADATA SATA PSU: Corsair 650W 80+ Gold
