A Swordsman’s Answer

Countess, you asked for a sword. Here is my submission. *opens the case I was carrying and removes the sheathed sword.* A double edge saber, forged in the heart of Desulevenes. There is no blade like her. *Unsheathes the sword, her glimmering blade glinting in the sun.* Her blade is a beskar alloy, forged with a Twisted Damascus pattern, San Mai’ed with a Folded Damascus heart of cortosis. *swings the sword in a few well practiced slices.* She has a hollow ground edge, and a coating of a mild nerve toxin and diluted Kouhun venom, giving her all the more bite.  *Runs hand down its length.* As far as enchantments go, the only thing besides her coating and the intrinsic properties of the metal is her altered magnetic structure, she has a very high thermal tolerance and wont melt not even for a star. *sheathes the sword, and offers it to you.* If this sword does not fit your daughters desires, I will be happy to forge her a new one, seeing as this was more a test of ones craftsmanship than anything.  Any questions?
that is not all, just what I thought necessary to include here. If you want more on the sword just ask and I will pm you, or add it in another spoiler, but not the effects of the coating though, I’ll pm you those.
Story.
What should a sword be?
A hammer strikes hot steel, sending sparks scattering, to set the scene.
A weapon of destruction?
A medieval battle with infantry clashing, blood spraying, and steel flashing.
A symbol of nobility?
The scene shifts from medieval knights, through history, highlighting figures of esteem and nobility, ending with 1910s European aristocracy.
A relic of some arcane peacekeepers?
Now we see the Jedi, tens of millennia before their fall at the end of the clone wars.
Or a tool of malevolence?
The view crumbles revealing the ancient Sith of the same era, with blades equally wicked as the Jedi’s were refined.
In parts, but not in whole.
The bladesmith cuts apart a length of metal plate, stacking it in a new order, then places it in a furnace.
What a sword should be, is what its wielder needs.
Through presses and under hammers the steel passes between trips to the furnace, methodically taking its shape.
Nobility needs nice, light blades to be worn at all times, for the sake of an image. Soldiers need a strong sturdy blade that won’t fail them in combat. Those ancient Jedi needed a weapon that reflected the lofty aspirations after which they perused. While the Sith they faced wanted items that would further their power and might.
Into an acid etch to highlight the patterns of the damascus.
That, is what a swordsmith would say.
The bladesmith finishes the sword with a highly detailed clamshell guard, a hilt of Wroshyr wood rapped in nerf leather, and finished with an Ankarres sapphire pommel.
Not what a swordsman would say.
The bladesmith wipes the sword of and inspects his work before sheathing it.
I will say that a sword should be an extension of oneself, as unique as the being who wields it. That is what I strive for in my work, to provide the best swords anyone can get.
