Shotguns
So it's been over a year now and shotguns still rain supreme. No matter what we get, no matter what you use, it almost always loses to a shotgun. New exotic, people use a shotgun. New weapons to farm entirely, people still use that shotgun. New shotguns, and people still use that same old dust rock or mindbenders. When are we actually ganna get some change to this? It's only fun for the first 2-3 times. Then everyone sits around corners or is constantly jumping around (Looking at your huntards) with shotguns. Countless weapons and only 1 type is used. Pair this shotgun dexterity and even if they don't have it out immediately, they can swap instantly and still shoot.
Can we PLEASE get some changes next season? There's no reason a single weapon type should be this dominate for so long.
Edit 1: It’s funny that there’s 2 things you can’t ever write about without someone thinking it’s “Complaining” simply because it’s the only thing they can do. Those 2 things being Shotguns and Hunters. Majority of crucible consists of those two, so you bring either of them up and it’s immediately dismissed as complaining. Doesn’t matter if you have a point or not, people are afraid of their crutches disappearing.
Case in point, this post.

Snipers, fusions, and side arms all compete. Its preference. More people like a shotgun play style which is more aggressive. If you’re good you can use any weapon you want currently. I do better with a fusion or sniper than I do with shotguns but I prefer shotguns because I like to play aggressive. It’s the more dominant play style. Which is why some of the best pvp players use shotguns. Others see, and they follow. Can you even say one thing that makes shotguns way better than all else? Jw

8 通の返信you can't be serious? it's simply called "Don't get to close". When a guardian has a shotgun equipped they have a really bright light at the end of the barrel so you know they have a shotgun.

1 返信Players either whine about Shotguns or whine about Fusion Riffles. As long as they are OHKs, players are going to use them.

1 返信The problem is not with the gun but how you play. THINK. Use your head and think about the strengths and weaknesses of shotguns. Do not run at players. If they run at you back off. Stay out of areas you know someone is camping. Keep that range open. We learned in D1 how to deal with shotguns so you have to now in D2. Adapt...…. Improvise........ Overcome.

3 通の返信All special weapons are obnoxious. They are all overused. I'd say more flinch, more penalties. There is minimal risk and maximum reward with any special weapon.

The problem is NOT the shotguns range. It’s the map size and layout of these maps. Most were made for 4v4. It’s easy as sin to close the gap in this game. Especially with the multiple angles they give you with all the corners. If you’re getting pushed within 10-12 meters then that’s a you problem. Backpedal and fight them off. And before you say it,look my stats up. My most used weapon? Handcannons. A primary.

10 通の返信If you can't stop my hunter from closing the gap on you, you're the tard. I had a titan rush me with a shotty and what did I do? Jump up and away from him while my Bygones skeeted all over his/her face while I was in mid air. What didn't I do? Make a post and cry about shotgun rushers.

1 返信But i thought fusions counter shotguns. Its very easy to out manuever an ape. Fusion rifles are way more than annoying than shotgun apes.

4 通の返信Do you think going back to special ammo boxes on the map it may stem the proliferation of shotguns? I mean the biggest advantage shotguns have(over other special weapons) are that if you kill someone youre right next to them to get more shotgun ammo.

1 返信As someone with double the sniper kills as shotgun, no. The only problem with shotguns is quickdraw but if range is an issue for you then you should look at your radar more.

3 通の返信I think they should buff them to OHK from 30-70 meters. I don’t like being forced to use a primary 😂
