Crucible is on life support... and Trials won't save it

Yoooo so now that I have your attention, I like to consider myself a decent PvP player with a lot of playtime. Lately though I've been noticing some awful trends in terms of matchmaking and the overall experience for the average player in PvP. Here's a list of things that [b]I THINK[/b] should be addressed in the future: 1. SBMM as a whole is a giant mixed bag 2. There's barely any loot incentive to grind. 10 cores is FAR from enough to keep most people coming back 3. Reports of rampant cheaters on PC. I can't confirm this one myself since I play on console 4. Metas potentially being stagnant for months. People still spam DRB/NF on Xbox specifically and it's just getting so monotonous at this point 5. Random connection errors that happen to players in the middle of matches, like Weasel and Canary 6. Awful queue times. Like I can literally make a sandwich, eat it, come back and I'll still be looking for matches If this whole thing ends up being a lil sloppy then I just wanna apologize ahead of time. But if anyone has any additional issues with the current state of PvP, then pop off down below because I'm sure that I'm still missing quite a few things

  • Trials was a hot pile of trash. Thing needed to be pulled as soon as it was launched

      I agree because i bet trials will have sbmm + scorecard based mm so it will crash and burn INSTANTLY.

      Special ammo economy that often trends primaries away from being the primary guns. They could remove scavenger perks from pvp altogether and specials would still be usable, just not spamtastic when currently 1 OHK rewards enough ammo for 3 new ones. Map design that by far favours close-quarters maps and not enough proper mixed range maps. This ties directly to shotguns, hand cannons and current OHK abilities being so viable more often than not. OHK abilities in general. They're 1 huge power creep that ends up damaging overall player experience long-term. Everybody complains about OHKs to get more OHKs, then uses the existing OHKs as a reason to not reduce the OHKs. Make them all slightly faster to use big damage abilities instead of OHKs and the sandbox will be better for it. Like you said, lack of recurring viable rewards is a big issue. SBMM could be fixed by tweaking CB a bit tighter and SB a bit looser. Make a proper SCBMM hybrid. This'd relieve queue times as well. Cheating isn't rampant on PC. It definetly exists and needs addressing, but from personal anecdotal experience I saw around 3-4 hackers last season in total. For reference I have 700 evenly distributed hours in crucible this year with around 120 competetive matches last season up to and at 5500. I can't call cheating excessive based on that.
