I’m not gonna directly ask “Should I get the game?” because I know this place to circlejerk it somewhat, but I would like to know more about it , as it’s free and has seemed to have had an overwhelmingly positive reception.
About the gameplay, so it’s one of those super mobile shooter right? Like, do what extent do you have to use the movement mechanics to do well/have fun? The last shooter I played with similar mechanics was Black Ops 3, but I hated the movement in that game. Is it similar? Does it require more movement? Is it better? Worse? I did add it to my library but I’d like to know those things before I actually install it.

RingLeader77により編集済み: 12/5/2019 8:31:11 PMThe movement is definitely a key aspect to the game. I played COD wall running once, and I think Titanfall's is easier to use, and a lot less restrictive on combat (and, in my opinion, which may be biased, it's also a lot better than CoD's). That said, if you're in pvp, you need to at least be able to use movement to your advantage somewhat if you want to do good. I have a friend who doesn't do much wall running at all and he can do good, but he's not consistently good. Ironically, once you get into the titular titans that the game is named for, that verticality is pretty much obsolete. Titans, for example, can not even jump (except one, which has a sort of jet boost). The campaign is quite different. During combat, I'd say there's a little less of a need to wall run and use acrobatics than in pvp, but most of the levels include some light wall running or jump sections, some missions more than others. Combat in the campaign can feel like guerrilla warfare sometimes, which I thought was cool, so you can not just run into a swarm of enemies and take them all down. You will get killed. So a little more strategy is needed for the pve. Overall, movement is an integral part of the game. It's one of the reasons I like it, but if it's an iffy spot to you, then you may not like it. I do recommend it, but I hope this helps

There are a few modes where you don't need to be great at or even use the special traversal abilities, either because they're Titan based or co-op, but the only popular one is Frontier Defense. LTS and Titan Brawl have longer queues because they're more niche. There's probably more movement than COD games, you've got a jump pack at all times which allows you to wallrun, double jump, and cling to walls temporarily (permanently with a certain item). Wallrunning is faster than sprinting, and can be sped up even faster if you chain wallruns together quickly, double jumping or wallrunning for too long will reduce speed. There's a Stim ability which gives you a big speed boost and can also be used for better control when being launched into the air. It will also heal you faster for its duration. There's a grapple hook ability which can be used to fling yourself or move vertically faster than jumping. It can also pull enemies toward you. Another item allows you to float while aiming down sights in the air. In your Titan self-destructing will eject you very high into the air, and you can ride on the back of every titan other than your own. Riding on the back of a titan will even give you an extra jump. Though, most of time you don't need it. Finally you can slide, but it doesn't work like in Apex. You slide for the same distance every time. However sliding allows you to Slidehop, like bunnyhopping but with slides. Slidehopping allows you to keep going fast in open areas, provided you started out wallrunning or being flung. You can also launch yourself with grenades, but that's only recommended for the Gauntlet because they still do damage.

9 通の返信If you didn't like the augmented mobility aspects of the recent Call of Duty games, then you won't like Titanfall 2. Those CoD games are a pale shadow of how Titanfall plays. One of the sayings in the original Titanfall game was, "Campers get wrecked". That's because the game's movement is so fluid and so well designed that you can get virtually anywhere on the map FROM anywhere on the map. So anyone who tries to sit in one spot and dominate chokepoints and blind corners (like you can in CoD or somewhat in Destiny) will get you demolished in Titanfall, because there are simply too many different directions an attacker can come at you from.....and the game is fought in three-dimensions. With better players usually dominating the vertical one. As result the game is one of speed, movement and positioning as you use your movement skill to flank your enemy and attack from an unexpected direction. If you like that style of play (which I do) you'll love Titanfall 2. If you don't---as many hardcore CoD players don't----you'll find the game tilting. Since it won't let you play in a static, map-control style with any success.

Depends on what difficulty level you are playing at. Generally speaking, FPS’s aren’t my thing, and I not particularly great at the twitch reflex gaming thing, and I managed to complete the campaign on normal difficulty level. To me, the most difficult platforming sections involved tracking down hard to reach collectables, but the actual platforming in the actual game never felt too difficult. Having said that, if you can master the movement in a Titanfall 2 ( double jumping and wall running ), it drastically changes the way the game can be played.

It’s alright. If I’m being completely honest, it kinda just felt like every shooter ever to me, at least in single player. There were some fun platforming sections, though. But, nothing it did in that department, Guacamelee hasn’t done better.

I downloaded it and have played a few hours already. This is my first time playing it and it’s a very polished and smooth linear FPS shooter. The controls and the shooting are butter smooth and it reminds me a lot of the feel of Destiny - but with wall running. The campaign itself is fun so far with a few nice set pieces. I’m not sure if it lives up to all the praise that people heap upon it but I’m still only a few hours in. Maybe it gets better. Considering it’s free it’s a no-brainer. Definitely worth a play in my opinion.

I don’t know if it’s better than Black Ops because I never played BO3, but the mobility in the game is really fun to mess around with. Some “class” abilities, such as the grapple hook and the stim, can enhance your speed and maneuverability. You’re main source of speed is going to come from wall running, which will give you a small speed boost and is easy to pull off. If all you’re looking for is fast paced action, you’ll want to stick with the grapple hook. It’s gonna be your go-to ability because it will always boost you forward and can send you to new heights. Speed isn’t everything, though. It’s fun to mess around with other tactical abilities, like the holo-pilot, which sends out a hologram of you to fool enemies, and the phase shift, which temporarily sends you to a different realm to escape enemies. The Titans you use are basically your super abilities. Do better, get them quicker. They don’t really feel fast, but they cover a lot of distance faster than normal people. If you want to stick to normal running and gunning, you can still place down your Titan and put it on autopilot. Each Titan has a unique play style. One of my favorites is Ion, which uses abilities that share energy. She has a sniper laser, a laser trip mine, and a force field that holds projectiles and sends them back to the enemy. You should definitely give it a try. Even losing can be sort of fun because it requires you to use your mobility to survive and get to the escape ship. I dunno if I’ve given you all that you want to know, though.
Fades Away
