For PVP high impacts need a range drop off of about 10-15 meters. No damage or half after that. The problem is that it effects primary weapons when you one shot past that range. I main a fusion primarily for shotgun rushers but notice that I can and get outgunned by fusions during primary gun fights. Because of range. For PVE I think they are in the best spot in Destiny's history. Great for ad clear and majors.
