I mean getting to 950 is not bad. It also only takes 15mins to get an alt to 900 if you have a 950 character. not sure why they charge 20$ to boost to 900. but past 950. alot of people struggling with the fact that pinnacle content is all private and no match making. Players are complain about being forced to use nightmare mods. once you reach Y threshhold you dont even need the mods for 980 nightmare hunts. as you just instant kill them. This however pigeon holes new players even more sadly, as not every one has an anarchy for 980 overloaded minotaur. All I can suggest for new players. Go get Love and Death it has Aggressive Frame, Spike Grenades, Field prep, Full Court.

  • You know stuff. I've been avoiding pinnacle activities... I like to blame my internet connection and the Playstation Network for not being capable of soloing stuff like I could in D1. A lot of the activities require so much effort to master and so much coordination/communication between groups. I have a job. And THAT feels like work!

  • I doubt you would be avoiding them though if if had match making am I correct? In the very least you would try them a few times. This makes the case that Bungie would have net gain of players if they enabled match making on these pinnacle activitys. As it stands Bungie has lost 25.15% of its players since Oct first according to steam. And gating players has certainly had an impact on this number, not the sole reason but its deff salt in the wound.

  • I have a couple friends that would have definitely dived into the matchmaking and with that so would I have done the same. In that scenario, I think players would have an expectation that everyone's learning the mechanics; especially if the raid was matchmaking enabled. But all the other pinnacle activities would likely be fine and any *random* group could quickly benefit from this system change. Imagine getting dropped into a team lobby where you could chat for 2 or 3 minutes BEFORE the activity begins so that you can get a sense of everyone's expectations. If you're trying to learn the raid, for example, part of the matchmaking would be to tell the game what your level of experience is (BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE OR ADVANCED). Someone looking to teach others could just select "beginner." Doesn't seem impossible. The game could finally feel inclusive to everyone.
