Bungie wouldn’t give you everything in the game...
They want people to grind and not to have everything in the game, because then it would be a bunch of One eyed mask wearing Titans running around crucible...
They don’t want to hand every non quest exotic to people on a plate

Let's assume Bungie removes weapons from the loot pool once you've unlocked all of them. Still I don't think it can be considered as handing something out anything on a plate. Fated engrams cost 90+ legendary shards, which is not really cheap. Next you can get a legendary armor piece you never use, stats you don't like or an energy affinity you don't like.
