Bright Dust economy is just... poor

So yeah, this season has been fun and strong with Vex Offensive and the Nightmares. But it has one big negative mark. Namely Bright Dust. Before Shadowkeep dropped, I had 14k after dismanteling all Eververse items. Right now in the 4th week I am down to 400. I have only bought 4 exotic items and 1 legendary so far. 5 things, and my saved up Dust is gone. And with the Cosmetic Engrams being gone this season, there's no other way to get the items. Now, I can always earn back some Dust by doing the in-game bounties. Right? Right. Except with constant and efficient farming, you only net 200 to 250 per hour. That's 10 to 15 hours of work for a single exotic ghost. Even before Shadowkeep, we got 200 dust per bounty as a default. We could get a over 2k per hour. How did we get such a drop? How did we go from a steady dust income if you put in some effort, to scraping dust together if you keep at it for hours? How did the economy taking such a massive hit seem like a good idea? Does this really get people to buy the overpriced Silver in order to get cosmetics? I may be biased to liking the previous setting for our Dust economy over the current one, but I don't think Silver will get any more use out of this either. It's just all negative for everyone. I just dread to think what Festival of the Lost will bring. Because so far it does not look good at all.

 • Dude, I've been posting about that since the Luke Smith blog told us to dismantle our items. I KNEW they were gonna throttle the Bright Dust economy. Bungie's design philosophy and design practices are so easily predictable at this point a kindergartener could do it. The entire time, and even now, you get shit on left and right by the internet tough talking hobo looking Guardians who love to talk about how well they do using an obscure non meta weapon in PvP with their .90 K/D ratio and haven't spent a single dime on their cosmetics. OR, you get the hopeless fanboys and fangirls who go to insane lengths to justify any legal immorality on Bungie's part no matter what. I mean, I'm all for being a fan of something. But those hopeless guys and gals are so far gone they don't care about quality anymore, only quantity. At this point I'm positive the entire dev team could shit in rusty buckets, sprinkle sugar on it, market it as Guardian Ice Cream, and those poor -blam!- would flock in droves to purchase and eat it with smiles on their faces. Eververse is a lost cause to the rational player. Either grind your weekly Dust or give up. Destiny is nothing but MTX central now.
