I'll try to keep this short and to the point. Obviously as consumers, we don't want to buy a game and then learn that a lot of items within the game are exclusive to the store. That always sucks. But I support it to a degree. I understand that it is a good way to get continuous income for future projects and content. But I think we need Bungie to meet us in the middle. Some players just don't have the money to pay for store content every season, and most of us simply don't want to. Not because I don't want to spend money but because of how expensive the Eververse items really are. It's a little over a dollar for 100 silver. Think about that.
If I want to buy the spring showers EMOTE...it costs me about 11 dollars!!! 11 bucks for an emote that I might only use for a week. If I want to buy the finisher bundle with 3, somewhat decent styles, it costs over $22!!! That's the cost of most games' DLC's! And each class set of armor is over $15.
So what Bungie needs to do here is not get rid of Eververse but reduce the prices drastically. This is more cost effective for us as gamers and ALSO for them. If they sell 1000 armors for $15 they make $15,000. But if they made those outfits only $5 then they'd probably sell about 5x as many, which would be about $25,000. ($10,000 more) yet cheaper for us. Emotes should only be costing a dollar or two, with exotic ghosts and ships being no more than $4 or $5.
Tell me what you guys think if these changes were made, would you be likely to support it or would you hate it just as much?

Eververse was around for awhile and certainly has a dark power to it. Controversy struck in 2017, which then caused some good change, up until the forsaken era. Now the dial’s past 11. It’s the same old arguments on both sides, but the fact that they caved once should be guilt enough. At the end of the day, people don’t care and will spend on whatever. I’ve done my part and stayed away from this “premium” model. I only hope they put even more backing into Eververse, just to see if it’ll cause trouble (which now probably won’t happen$

4 通の返信D2 is f2p now and Bungie has stated that cosmetics helps fund projects like Zero Hour. As long as players can still buy them with bright dust and cosmetics remain purely cosmetic, I’ll be fine with eververse.

4 通の返信Interpol89により編集済み: 10/18/2019 4:07:25 PMIMO, this a problem with the players of destiny. They feel entitled to everything, even though real life doesn’t work that way. You don’t go to Walmart, and start screaming at the manager when the item you want to buy is too expensive. Here’s a simple solution: Don’t buy any items from the eververse store.

10 通の返信I think it's a fundamental problem of people convincing themselves Bungie is "taking something out of the game" they paid for. Simply put, if Eververse didn't exist, the items wouldn't exist. They still wouldn't be in the game for free. They just wouldn't be. I don't understand why people think all the store stuff would just be in the game if the store didn't exist?

4 通の返信These posts absolutely make me laugh my ass off.. it's hysterical some ppl are so upset over cosmetic items. They add NOTHING of value to the game in terms of playability.. IT'S STRICTLY COSMETIC. Either pony up the cash or don't. It's that simple. Now excuse me while a I go buy $50.00 worth of silver and just buy everything. Just to spite this post.

1 返信People need to re evaluate their life if they get this upset over a COSMETIC ITEM in a game, that does nothing to change the game experience.

DarkOverlord_9により編集済み: 10/19/2019 5:46:58 AMMicrotransactions are never ok in a video game, especially one that already requires $500+ to access basic features. This is a scam, pure and simple.
PS: If a developer insists on selling in-game items, then have them/their currency earnable at a reasonable pace by playing the game and never sell any piece for over $0.50 (of course, this could lead to them scamming us out of $7.50 for an armour set (3 characters), but what they are currently doing is much, much worse and more egregious).
there is no controversy, just slow witted people upset at useless shiny items they want and can't afford. none of that useless crap has any value, aside from that which you personally put into it. change your mindset and keep your money in your pocket.

6 通の返信This is all a matter of opinion but I have to ask: what content that actually matters is locked behind the store? I mean if Eververse was FULL of sweet looking gun and armor skins, more so than the actual game, I’d be a little frustrated, but it’s not. Nor has it ever been. Aside from a mediocre armor set each season and some generic looking weapon skins, there’s really never been anything in Eververse that got me good and mad that it was locked behind a paywall. Are cosmetics really that big a deal that people want to rise up and storm the castle every few months? Sure. It sucks that by being in the store now there aren’t sparrows and ships and other stuff to chase in game now. I’m actually a little annoyed by that. But if the trade off is being able to just wait and get them in the store for bright dust, then you know what, I’ll take it. Again, this is just my opinion, but I’m still trying to understand why people get SO mad about Eververse.

You don't think that if things didn't sell they would not lower prices? If prices remain the same, that means they are selling enough to make their quota. If I see stuff I like but it's too expensive, I just move on. Cosmetic stuff doesn't really matter to me.

Funding the game I main. I will defiantly be buying the Halloween eververse items. Bungie isnt only a game developer.. It's a business and they can't just live off of an occasional 60 dollar game/dlc purchases. They have to pay all the talented artist and developers that make and create the content for a game we all play every day. Stuff is not easy.

14 通の返信I'm actually curious if they have some formula for calculating the price or if they legit just pull it out of their asses.

7 通の返信Many things are locked behind parts of the game. You either have to play for them or pay for them. I don't play pvp so I don't get anything you have to play pvp for. I rarely if ever do a raid so I don't get any raid gear. I have just as might right to complain about paying full price for a game that I don't get the full benefit of as anyone does about Eververse. Yes, it's my choice as to what I play just as paying for items from Eververse is a choice also.

If nobody buys them they will have to drop the cost... the problem is that there are plenty of players with access to disposable income that dont care about the cost. I honestly think that they would rather sell 100 emotes at ten dollars each than to sell 1000 emotes at one dollar each even if either way still nets them $1000. It would take something like a boycott to get them to change their market strategy

2 通の返信I think Bungie would do well to learn from the Warframe model, where they have pretty much everything obtainable for free so long as you do some grinding for it, and have it available for purchase should people want to avoid the grind and/or support the developers. People love DE because of this, and plenty of them still spend a lot of money on the game. Unlike Destiny 2, Warframe doesn't have any paid expansions though, so these Eververse prices just feel like they're gouging players while gating off cosmetic content (especially since not only was the amount of Bright Engram drops lowered, but they're not even for current items). LIke OP said, $22 for some finishers and $11 for an emote is just an insane price, it's early days for New Light, but this isn't a good precedent to set, especially for long term players who have become accustomed to a far more generous system up until now. I'm not saying it has to go back to the way it was, but surely there must be a compromise here. I feel like I have to reiterate again how utterly bonkers it is to sell three finishers for $22. Who at Bungie looked at that and thought "that's reasonable"? Maybe that person isn't in the best position to be making these decisions in the first place

1 返信I disagree. Having bought only cosmetics I think its worth keeping around. Similar to DE of Warframe. It's a good way to support Bumgie and help grease the wheels. The recent trend if stupidity in gaming recently shows our developers are struggling. We must help in what little ways we can without them having to Microtransaction us to hate them. If they do cosmetics and simple things like shells, sparrows. And ships then it's worth the sacrifice- should you choose to do it.

4 通の返信Or you can simply not spend your money. Hell you act like bright dust doesn't exist in this game so you can get stuff for free. Crying over a emote? An emote? Oh no what will you do without that emote? Crying over armor you can buy for bright dust ONE PEICE AT A TIME over several weeks as opposed to all at once cuz you're that impatient? Get over it.
