It's that bad.
The requirements to upgrade to masterwork are rediculous, and the gear just isnt that much better.
Other than that Shadowkeep is fun.
Edit: Ok it's not Anthem bad. I like the elements, but the masterworking requirements are dumb.

From what I gather it's really only bad if you don't have any mods unlocked. I didn't think much of it at first, but now that I've started unlocking mods, I'm starting to really get into building. Do I still have objectively better Y2 armor right now? Yeah, probably. But when I unlock the mods I need for my playstyle I will most definitely be switching over. The costs for masterworking is a tad too steep for my liking but I don't see myself ever needing more than like 8 energy points anyway.

Thanks for your feedback. After careful consideration, we have renamed masterwork gear to prestige gear, and reduced the stats on non prestige gear across the board. Bungie respects players time invested, and we wanted the reward to reflect this. Prestige gear will require prestige enhancement cores. FACTIONS ARE BACK! Yes you heard correctly. You're faction representative will now take masterwork cores in exchange for glimmer. The glimmer cap remains unchanged, but we have introduced diminishing returns when your guardian is out in the field, which means you shouldn't have to worry about hitting the cap again any time soon. See you starside!
🐈
Corrick IIにより編集済み: 10/13/2019 3:10:51 AMI know saying anything negative about it just marks us as naysayers, but the new armor system is just a grindier system that has us chasing higher levels and stat minutiae of the same armor over and over. There’s nothing compelling about the new system other than just making some numbers go up, IF we’re lucky. Maybe if there was a greater variety of new armor to chase, but at this point it might as well just be “generic” armor. It also doesn’t help that transmog is limited to Eververse.

Armor 2.0 is not perfect but nothing... and I mean NOTHING in Destiny is Anthem bad. Anthem is a stain/hilarious joke for the gaming community.
-
How about this, you don't need to masterwork your gear, at all. It's endgame stuff, and barely makes a difference.

thatdudeEdにより編集済み: 10/13/2019 3:01:52 PMCasuals hate this armor system. However most of us who are vets and crucible players enjoy it, but i understand its not everyones cup of tea. Never has destiny had so much in depth customization to create unique builds with perks synergizing with each other. This is trully the updated rework of the old d1 armor system and I love it.

Armor 2.0 is awesome. The level of customization is insane. If you dislike the cost of upgrading, just upgrade it to level 5. You can still put quite a few mods on, and it only costs glimmer and legendary shards. You can even go up to level 7 without much difficulty. It only really starts to get expensive past that, which is good for players who want a long grind.

I'll readily agree masterworking is way too expensive, but it's 100% not even close to Anthem bad. Armor 2.0 gives players the freedom to make their own builds. You could build for strength and make a titan punch build. You could build intellect and nova the shit out of absolutely everything with Skull. You could make a discipline build that allows for suppression grenade spam. Many options with this new system, the only real downfall is the masterwork system.
-
The majority of it is not. There are certainly some broken builds with the artifact, but Destiny’s armor and stats have mostly been all show and no go. It’s mostly a pissing contest.

Eh I've put maybe 20 hours into shadowkeep so far & I'd say it's not that bad imo. The season is designed around playing & earning stuff so where I am now it's not like I'm hurting for more than 6-7 mod points on my armor. As long as I have Traction on my boots I don't give a flip
-
I know I was hyped about 2.o but when I got my hands on it not so much the grind is unreal, now I'm glad I kept all my old gear.
-
That's quite a title you have there. Nothing is as bad as anthem dude. Nothing...

Robotyzeにより編集済み: 10/13/2019 2:59:32 PMYeah the requirements are too much but the system overall is still very good and customisable. Instead of blindly grinding for a god roll armour now we can systematically upgrade the Armor to whatever perks we want and make it look like whatever we want. And that is good unless you somehow like blind grinding.
