I used to always pick fire, except Heart Gold, where I chose Totodile for whatever reason. But then came upon earth the majesty that is Decidueye (I know it’s mainstream, don’t @ me). And now it’s currently #teamSobble.
Sidenote: Had I played XY, then I’d chosen water, for obvious reasons.
Competitive players want to win battles. In order to do so, they choose the pokemon with the best stats. In order to perform well they need optimal team builds with pokemon that have good stats. It’s just like in all other PvP games: players who want to win will use the best things. But when you just play through the story, it doesn’t really matter.

Well, yeah, I guess that’s true. My Mawile in XY, and XD are really bad, and I avoid using them because of it, despite Mawile being my favorite. That’s not either Mawile’s fault, though, I’m just a really bad trainer. :p
#depressedChamealeongang

I was initially thinking Scorbunny but seeing how it’s most likely going to be another fire/fighting, no. Also Sobble must be protected. Team Sobble ftw

And Decidueye is amazing regardless of how mainstream it is
IceApfelにより編集済み: 9/25/2019 10:03:10 PMCouldn’t agree more. But I personally believe the Galar starters will end up without secondary typings. Scorbunny does learn fighting moves, but they literally can’t make him fire/fighting. Riots would happen.
Also the one credible leak says it’ll stay pure fire, so there’s that.
3 monotype starters? That’ll be interesting to say the least. We haven’t had that since gen 2. Not even gen 1 was like that. I was kinda hoping Sobble would get a cool secondary typing but I guess pure water works too
