Armor that costs $ looks better than armor you can earn in game.
Looks good.
But lame af.

Literally everything that was in year 1 is free. That’s an entire game. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. They went further and threw in some stuff from year two and access to the patrol zone from Shadowkeep. If you want extra content, you have to pay, but the original game, plus extra, is free. FTP.
-
Do you not know what FTP is? It means content is free. You aren’t paying for DLC. That’s what FTP is Like someone said, this is more like Free to Start. You get a base game for free, but you’re paying for everything else. But still, most people have already payed a hundred dollars for the base game and all of the Y1 DLCs, meaning that it isn’t a FTP game.

This isn't a Free-to-Play game, it's Free-to-Start. You get Y1 for free, but as for the Y2/3 content, you only get the patrol area. Any story missions, raids and activities are still paid for and are still for sale. Assuming this is FTP and because of this gating gear that has much more effort and work done into it behind MTX being forgiven is ludicrous.
-
Yes. The first year's worth of content is free. All the other expansions must be paid for. Isn't that how other MMOs do it? As it is, they are now giving away last year's season pass if you buy Forsaken. Personally I think all of year 2 should be included, if only to create a more solid foundation for the FTP game, but them charging for DLC is far from ridiculous.

Why are we suddenly comparing Destiny to an MMO? Destiny is a Looter FPS with MMO mechanics, nothing more. Whatever the devs may say to flavor it up, the game barely has any MMO mechanics. Trading, actual spaces that support more than 9 players, interaction with other players other than a barely working chat and 4 emotes at a time, character build variety as well as an adequate endgame gameplay loop. Having nothing of it, Destiny can barely be considered an MMO.

I know, but neither has the FTP aspect of it. I really hated the changes to the Eververse but the game is adapting a FTP model. I can't blame them for putting their best looking gear out there for a premium price. It might help things though if they at least one of the free sets was as good as the premium ones. I know "good" is a matter of opinion, but there's no doubt in anyone's mind that the Eververse only set is almost certainly the best of the bunch.

Ah but do we know if we will have to buy these sets but if they come with the battle pass all the more reason to get the battle pass, plus it gives me the entire year in advance, sounds like a good deal, better then last years annual pass, costs 10 bucks cheaper for more content. or is it 20 dollars, how much was forsaken + annual pass bundle was it 70 or 80 dollars, i know that shadowkeep with the year pass is 60 though which is a batch of five things in all, because i think its shadow keep then there are four other seasons .
