Preemptive Artifact and armor 2.0 feedback

I was really excited at the prospect of having an artifact that granted perks. It seemed like a really cool idea, and it appeared at first like there were perk “paths” similar to skill trees in D1. When I found out that it’s just a UI screen used to unlock mods I was really disappointed. I was even more disappointed to learn that these mods have to be slotted into mod slots on armor/weapons, and they will use a significant amount of “energy” which will really restrict the way we build our characters. Essentially, instead of getting more powerful we’ll be forced to choose between cool/novelty perks or practical perks and extra stat points. Also, I already know that my current armor is stronger than armor 2.0. I’ve seen the cost of enhanced perks and there’s no way I can replicate my builds or even come close. Why would I switch to an inferior armor set? I understand I haven’t even played with this system yet. It might be fine. I’m just sharing feedback that it’s not as exciting as it first appeared.

  • I definitely have similar concerns to yours. That said, one major concern I have is the fact that Bungo hasn’t answered whether or not weapon mods will be getting the same treatment armor mods are. Because if weapon mods remain as they are no, I won’t have ANY incentive to take a Rampage Spec mod outta a weapon for a artifact mod, if I’m gonna lose it. Lastly, I’m highly concerned that we have to invest so many materials into a piece of armor in order to unlock armor and even test out the 2.0 system; let alone the artifact system.
