A defunct Darkness ship seems the most plausible so far, even though I’m wondering how it got there. The Darkness is definitely the main culprit, even though it probably won’t show up. The Hive seem to be experimenting with the ship.
I think there has to be a more personal angle to the Nightmares. It can’t just be a coincidence that the Darkness chose to manifest only major enemies that our guardian fought and killed. If they were going for the most powerful ones, then there would have been better options than Tanikis or Phogoth. It should also be noted that every major enemy faction is represented. I feel like there’s still one puzzle piece missing, one piece of information we need to start cracking this down.
There’s still the first tease of the Darkness we are supposedly getting in SoO, according to the infamously correct leaker Anonthenine, so maybe that will clear things up a little bit.
I think I gave you the idea indirectly
<Perhaps the tease of the Darkness in SoO was the confirmation of the Armada and them not being Hive. That's all I could gather so far. The Collapse seems the most likely point for a ship to crash. But that still leaves out the fact that there are over a hundred ships in the end credits scene alone and none of them have structural damage.>

jafer_33により編集済み: 8/16/2019 9:27:13 PMThat would be really cool if this theory is correct. I always imagined a mission similar to Mass Effect 2's Derelict Reaper mission where we got to explore a Reaper's interior but this time around, it's for the pyramid ships! Not to mention, that level had elements of psychological horror as well!

<Oh, then yeah, possibly. It's just kinda weird that losing to the Traveler would be something HUGE but we still have a sizable fleet with enough destructive power to wipe out an entire planet. Why would they stop? The Traveler has no weapons outside of the Light Wave and we didn't have a single weapon capable of damaging the Armada. I swear I try to come up with things that go against the Anon theory but it makes more sense the more I look into things. What made them retreat with a fleet that size? If all of those ships gang banged the Traveler, it would've been over then and there. What happened? Why are they merely stopping the Traveler from healing all the way rather than harming it?>

I believe I figured out how the Traveler defeated the "Darkness armada": You said that the Traveler has no weapons outside of the Light wave. Well... One, we don't know if that is true. Two, the same cut-scene that introduced the "Darkness Armada" also showed us how mindbogglingly large and powerful a Light Wave is. It can seemingly seed our entire galaxy with Light and then keep on going through the intergalactic void! The "Darkness Armada" might be stronger or weaker than the Traveler. Whatever the truth is, the Collapse was the first time the Traveler fought back against it. By sucker punching them with a Light Wave at the very least.

<How about after the wave? There are over a 100 ships. Then there's the Heart again. The Heart wasn't damaging the Traveler despite its exact purpose being to affect the Traveler. It could've hurt it, but it was only preventing it from healing, two different things. Dark things were/are in the system and instead of causing annihilation on Earth they just sit there, waiting. It feels like the only race actually trying to kill the Traveler are the Hive.>

I'm going to be honest: I don't think that Bungie has thought about this. This leaves us with huge plot holes. I'm fully expecting Bungie to solve these plot holes in a very anticlimactic way. Something like: The Darkness was knocked out cold by the Traveler. With a "mere Light Wave". Shocking right? Here is the best part: When the Darkness woke up; as it processed its defeat it felt shocked and depressed. Since then, it fled the galaxy so that it could get some therapy. Because reasons. How? I don't know.... space magic? I know this is getting silly so please bear with me: The Hive as the dutiful fanatics they are; believe that slaughtering the Traveler will endear the Darkness to them. They don't know the Darkness that well. The Vex couldn't care less. All that matters to them is their "Pattern". The Fallen and the Cabal don't serve the Darkness at all. In fact they are afraid of it. But it never crossed their minds that they are better off allying with us and each other. So we fight.
-
<But that still leaves the Heart not harming the Traveler. We let that thing run for centuries. The Hive experimented with a Shard and we were there in moments to end it because it was hurting the Traveler.>

"Whatever the heart of that place is," he says, pacing, "it's a seed, I think, a seed left behind to grow. Like a… a node of Glimmer. Or…" The idea strikes him as a thunderbolt. "Or a tripwire. Bait to attract those who seek out and destroy what they don't understand." Bait for Guardians. Bait to mark some milestone in the Traveler's recovery. The Forsaken Prince: After The Heart Part 2

Also, I’m thinking it might be even more than just awakening a pyramid ship in Shadowkeep. The devs all have said something different about what Eris did. I’ve heard “awakened a hidden darkness” and something about awakening a beast. From the unfinished cutscene it looks to be a pyramid ship, but why would some developers call it a beast as well? Hopefully it’s a tease of one of the Darkness race (just a tease though).

IceApfelにより編集済み: 8/16/2019 2:43:29 PMWe still haven’t gotten our seasonal cutscene yet, so that would be a good place for that, if it happens. Not saying there will be a cutscene, but there might be. I don’t really know what would trigger that cutscene, since everything this season has to offer has been completed.

Black Armory had the Ada-1 cutscene where she gets the upgrade and Season of the Drifter had the cutscene with the Shadow and Taken Captain. Some people have therefore concluded that every drop of the annual pass has one cutscene. Of course that’s just a theory, but it seems plausible and realistic.
