I think I’ve done only a single Menagerie since this bounty arrived where players didn’t leave. At least one person leaves during or after The Lamplighting. Obviously because of this bounty.
How have you guys not figured this sort of thing out yet? Or do you just have no real sense of foresight when you implement something? Do you just not care about player enjoyment?
Help me understand Bungie. Seriously. It’s something that is obvious even without having to have made the mistake once.
Edit: What’s the point of making a bounty activity specific if nothing about the bounty has anything to do with the activity? Makes no sense. Either they are trying to artificially inflate activity participation across the board with all these bounties, or they just straight up don’t care. If it’s just about challenge they may as well have a “heroic” PvP enabled patrol area they can just throw people in instead of disincentiving actually completing activities, let alone being efficient in them.

It auto loads replacement players, so not sure I see the issue. Just 20 mins ago, I hopped on to complete that bounty. I loaded in while the team playing was completing the Mockery. Got 13 kills in the time it took them to clear that room. Then moved onto to The hunted. Was nervous, but was able to get 7 more kills. Then actually got the hunted with time left Triumph. Then we only had 1 gauntlet run, which all 6 of us completed, sending us to the final boss. Which we 2 phased. I guess I stayed, and it went great. And I clearly replaced someone who left. That person missed out on 2 possible Triumphs, if they didn't have them. And I actually got the complete a run in full set of opulent armor, as well. I guess what I'm trying to say is, is that the original group that had someone leave, and me join, wasn't negatively impacted at all. I do agree that people leaving activities early, sucks. Can't even begin to count how many times, I've been in crucible, and we start losing, or people see that we are against a 4 or 6 stack and leave me to be 1v4, or 1v6. Been that way, since back in the Halo 3 days. I always stay, just how I am, I guess. But it's just a video game, so if someone has something come up, and can't finish an activity they started, just have to deal with it. Hell, back in D1, during a lfg Crota's End run, I had my dogs get in a wrestling match, knock over a candle, and start my coffee table on fire. Hated having to leave the raid, but sometimes, chit happens and the video game I'm playing, stops being the priority. I get bounties can lead to leaving activities for selfish reasons, but in activities that auto fill players, it's merely an inconvenience, and not really game breaking, imo.

It's just normal Menagerie. Who cares? There's no fail mechanic. You can't wipe, you can't fully fail and not complete it. Why does it matter if a couple people leave at the beginning? Not like it hurts you. You'll still finish the activity and get your rewards. I'm not doing a full 30 minute activity just for one bounty that gives a measly 1% discount. That's not at all worth my time. So who cares if people leave? Its impact on your ability to complete the activity and get your reward is virtually nonexistent.

I've done my 9 menageries for the week for my leviathan mods and I'm guilty of this. Only being able to do 4 discount bounties a day is insane and players for sure have the incentive to just quit after a super fast 35 second bounty. It's very bad execution and foresight on Bungie's part.

that reminds me of the deathless bountie from destiny one where you have to completing it without dying it was my fave bounty everytime it came up i used to grab it and to get it completed. some people found it lame but i found it great.

I mean you technically can’t fail Menagerie so it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. At least Menagerie doesn’t have a giant “hey look at portal” that everyone and their mom camps around before the first mote is even deposited

I have to play Menagerie for the bounties but even when I got the bounty done, I always finished the whole run. 1. You have people in there that may be genuinely trying to finish the run and 2. You're already in there, may as well finish it. One attempt at a certain weapon with your choice of a MW, is not all bad.

Menagerie died when they fixed the chest exploit, i just get the kills and leave too, sorry but i will not do a activitie that i'm sure the rng will be bad as -blam!- even me choosing the weapon i want.

It kind of comes with the territory sadly, just like the one for the pubs. I mean it's not the first time Bungie has done bounties like this and the exact same thing happened last time too. It kind of seems to me that Bungie put that bounty in rotation just to get people into the Menagerie Matchmaking. People try to do Heroic Pubs, just to have others run in and insta kill the prisoner in tangled shores or blights in Dreaming City. I even see people doing the bank 20 or kill 40 enemies in Gambit and then bailing out. I don't know anyone who does the crit kills in PvP one though. lol I try my best to avoid messing up other people so I just grab the basic ones like kill 25 enemies, get precision kills, etc... I can usually finish those on multiple characters in less than 20 mins.

Bump. Another example of F@@@@ng stupid bounty design which screws others experience who try to play it.

Menagerie became boring after I got the weapons and armour I wanted during the multi chest opening phase. I loaded into menagerie to do that bounty from Calus, finished the bounty before 2 lamps were even lit and left. Bounties have promoted selfish gameplay for a long time now. Most recently people ignoring objectives and focusing on bow kills in gambit or lost sector farming during strikes. Bounties should be tied to playing the objective, not selfish gameplay.

whateverman7により編集済み: 7/21/2019 11:29:29 PMThe issue isnt the bounty itself, it's when the game lets you know you've completed the bounty. It goes for a lot of the bounties since the update. Before the update, when you completed a bounty, the game let you know right then. After the update, for a lot of bounties, you dont know you've completed them until after the activity is over, and that's messing with a lot of people. They are confused/worried about if they've completed a bounty or not. Bungie needs to go back to the old way of letting us know bounties are complete as soon as we do them.
