Looking at this in the context of "punishment" isn't what we're aiming for.
We're simply fixing the requirements for the unlocks. Once players meet those requirements, they'll have the catalyst and emote once more.

No I am using basic logic. We do the same thing constantly in real life. If someone scams someone else out of money, their punishment is typically to pay back said money, and assuming nothing else was done or happened, that is pretty much the extent of it. Whether you like it or not it is a punishment, it is normally viewed as a very light form of punishment for very light offences. But that doesn't change the fact about what it is.

"Punishment is the imposition of an undesirable or unpleasant outcome upon a group or individual, meted out by an authority—in contexts ranging from child discipline to criminal law—as a response and deterrent to a particular action or behaviour that is deemed undesirable or unacceptable." "The unpleasant imposition may include a fine, penalty, or confinement, or be the removal or denial of something pleasant or desirable." Sure you keep telling yourself that, maybe one day it will be true. Punishment has an incredibly broad definition, because it can include a huge amount of things. The important points for what makes something a punishment isnt how harsh it is, it is the reasons why something negative is happening to someone, and whether or not the person or group inflicting the punishment has the authority to do so. Maybe next time learn the definition of a word before trying to argue about it.

Giving something back that isn't yours is not a punishment, its justice. Having something taken away that is yours is punishment. Having something taken back that wasn't yours isn't. Its clear you are an obstinate, ignorant child so I see no point in continuing this. I honestly feel sorry for you and how this attitude of yours will serve you in later life. You've got some harsh revelations coming your way.

Nickel7Dimeにより編集済み: 7/21/2019 11:26:17 AMYou are the one that chooses to deny rather clear definitions, and decides to throw around petty insults. Also what is with this weird idea that punishment must be seperate from justice? What on earth were you even trying to say there? Can a punishment not also be justice? The law at least seems to think so, but I guess since all mighty you thinks otherwise then it must not be so. I do find it funny that you resort to petty name calling and throw a tantrum, all while saying I am the child here. It is very interesting and quite revealing to be honest. My atitude is to actually look at things from a rational and logical perspective, this includes actually using things like the definitions of words. In comparison I would like to ask how far in life petty name calling has gotten you in life? It is also funny that you call me ignorant when I am the only one to have provided any kind of proof, in the form of an actual definition of the word in question. And you call me obstinate even though you are the one that won't budge from your made up idea of what a word means even when presented with a commonly accept definition that says otherwise. So in other words throughout this argument I have been the opposite of ignorant, and I have only been obstinate because I have proof to show I am correct, and so I don't see why I would be the one to back down. Again next time look up the definition of a word before trying to argue it, and maybe don't try using petty insults that kind of look like they might apply more to you, than the person you are arguing with.

Bungie didn’t single out the exploiters for “punishment”. Permit me to demonstrate: “All players must have done x to get y” is easier than “all players must have done x to get y except for these players who got x a different way.” You see that, right? It’s easier to apply the fix to everyone than make exceptions. There’s no punishment involved, except in your head.

Nickel7Dimeにより編集済み: 7/20/2019 11:13:46 AMThat simply isnt true nor is it how the game has ever worked. Doing the appropriate triumphs is all that is needed to obtain something like the catalyst and emote, the system does not go and check if said triumph is completed every time you go to equip said item. That would be pure and utter nonsense, not to mention a complete waste of time and processing power. This means they had to go off and run a system which specifically locked the items of those that did not have the certain triumph completed. Had it simply been a matter of fixing the issue, then all that would have changed is that no one could obtain the items any longer by using the exploit. It would never effect the ability of those that already had it to equip them. Your statement lacks logic as soon as you consider that it would entail the system choosing to check your triumphs every time you went to equip an emote. Such a system is totally and completely illogical. Even the TWaB has made it pretty clear that this is something they intentionally did, and basically calls it a punishment. Which is why they even had to restate that they don't normally punish people for using such things. It couldn't be more obvious or logical. It would have been far simply just to simply change the system to say X cannot be placed and counted multiple times. Which is exactly what they stated they have changed. And like I said this would not effect those that already have the items that come from these because completing those triumphs doesn't determine whether or not you can equip something, it determines whether or not that item can be obtain and placed in your inventory.

Reading, it's a thing, you might want to do it. But just in case you missed it last time, I didn't use the exploit. Heck I haven't even used the multi bounty exploit. I have done every triumph possible, and am at 44 out of 80, and once I get 80 I will buy the last of the tributes.

How is that being ridiculous. It is litteraly one of the things we use as punishment in real life. So to try and deny that it is a type of punishment is absolute nonsense. Call it what it is, deal with the consequences and stop playing stupid little word games to try and make it sound better.

Yep, but that's our community. A lot of times people like to be divisive. I think it's a fair fix and you guys are doing a great job for us. What's worse, is that people saying these negative things about fellow guardians would have done it themselves if they had the chance so I don't put much stock into these kinds of posts. Keep up the great work guys!

If only you’d put as much effort bettering the QoL of players as you do making it worse. “Fix” menagerie and break the rest of the game. LoW completely busted? “Good enough”. People stuck spectating in comp? “Working on it”. You guys never move faster than in the exact opposite direction of where your community wants you to go.

I wish you understood how programming works. No... No you don't. Don't even think that you do. Learn something before you say something ignorant. Go take classes in C++ or something and write programs with deadlines. Until then? Shut up.
