Bungies biggest fail with balancing is 1) no seperation between PvP and PvE, in any aspect. Guns, Gear, perks, supers, nothing is seperate between the 2. The same perk should be seperate in PvP and PvE. But theyre not. Say Rampage (picking at random because its the same with every perk/weapon/gear) is OP in PvE and ok in PvP. If it gets nerfed to balance it in PvE to make it just viable it destroys it in PvP making it unusable and worthless. Thats why its impossible to balance guns/perks/gear and what forces metas. 2) no dedicated servers and no region lock, especially in PvP. It kills this game. Battlefield has done it for years, yet devs like bungie and activision think its an inpossible task because theyre greedy and money hungry. Without those 2 things this game will never be balanced. It will always stay messed up in every area and the devs will never accomplish anything

  • Perks and guns are already seperately balanced for PvP. This is simply a lie. Lumina for example. 35% in PvE, 19% in PvP. Bad JuJu as well, im pretty sure it scales to 60% max instead of 100%. Same can be said for half the guns and perks in the game, they get tuned different every update and have done since Forsaken. As for dedicated servers, for pvp yeah they are a must, hopefully we get them sometime. PvE is fine without them, consider the cost and space and resources needed for a game with such a sheer high volume of data like Destiny, most things are already handled server side so its just unneccessary.

  • This mods/perks, effects should be able to be tuned differently based on an "environmental response" algorithm. If you are in PvP, these perks have these effects, if in PvE, they have those effects. could be achieved easily with separate servers, but it should be doable with the right infrastructure in the coding of environments and the specific mod/perk

    They have been balancing guns separately as far as I know since Forsaken has come out. Just read back in the Weekly updates.

    Guns have been balanced seperately in PvE and PvP to be fair. Not sure about perks and armour though. Lets see what Bungie do on the next game, it'll be interesting to see if they move away from Activisions P2P/Listen Server architecture that all their developer studios seem to use.
