Wonderful.
Another post from someone who has no understanding of secondary consequences.
If you can't understand how this would easily be exploited then you shouldn't be making suggestions.
You're better off just making a more generic post on why Comp Glory losses are bad.

Yes all the people who cheesed the Menagerie are complaining that the activity is worthless now. They did it to themselves by getting all the gear then needed in a way that undermines the design. I'm not saying point protection is bad. I'm saying that most suggestions don't take the actual development and change process into account with their ideas. They don't understand development which takes ALL consequences of a change into account (or should)

Yeah, they have an idea of how to kill the crucible numbers by implementing loser penalties instead of just coding an actual ranking algorithm that decides matchmaking and tiering. The crucible is as bad as it's ever been and I maintain it's because of loser penalties making the strong stronger and the weak quit and never set foot in the crucible. At least in d1 I felt like the matches were more fair and solo queuing was still fun.

You should still get the penalty for quitting, but if a solo player sticks it out, they should make SOME progress and be rewarded for staying in the game. Winning should still be higher, but there should be some incentive to sticking it out. And if they have a real ranking instead of this bullshit Glory system, it wouldn't even matter. Then we could still make steady progress on pinnacle quest steps without ruining the experience by quitting. And you do realize there's an exploit to be able to quit without penalty and it's been in the game since D1 beta, right? So, go ahead and spell it all out for us.

Don't think I agree with the ranking system as it is now. I hate it. I avoid Comp because of it. But I know for a fact that if there was no loss penalty, it would make the problem of people quitting out even worse. The exploit allowing you to not lose glory when leaving early in no way changes what happens to the players remaining in the match. They still lose points because you left. There isn't an exploit around that, short of leaving early themselves. If there were no way a team could lose glory when a member left, they would simply have someone leave any time they started to lose. The person leaving loses some glory and the rest of the team keeps their ranks without having to win. There are soloutions to this problem, but what OP stated is stupid.

But, I just said that if you quit, you should lose points. But, The ones who are screwed are the players left when they leave. Those people should get some points. Loser penalties are the whole reason people are paying to get pinnacle weapons and I will never support pay to win, ever. Anyway, this is a dead horse.
