Ok....call me easily pleased if you like but one of the most memorable moments of Destiny was when everyone contacted Space AIDS. It was cool to see people running about with different coloured swarms buzzing around their heads. Served absolutely no purpose whatsoever but still thought it was awesome. Sorry to the peeps who first joined in with D2....you won’t understand. YouTube it.

wasn't that the owl sector virus where no matter what guardian is near by they come in contact with it if so yes i remember it i think it was an thing happened weeks before the rise of iron dlc came out.

Remember when pre Dark Below special hive knights would spawn ... And killing them you could pick up their swords and use them in the open world?! That was awesome The planets felt 100 times better, too In d2 they are only spots to do chores
-
not only that but the race to figure out outbreak prime, touch of malice, farming for husk of the pit in the first mission from dark below, the sleeper quest at the top of the rocket in the cosmodrome, that secret knight boss in the ship in the dreadnaught, going for godroll red spectres, having only one titan smash per super, the weeks of hammers being busted, hitting the ground at 2mph and getting killed by the architects, i miss everything
-
...maaaan, that just took me down a wild nostalgia trip... Rainbow burn archon priest... I don't have time to explain... Forever 29... Actually having to fight strike bosses... Loot caves... (fun fact, the one on Mars never got patched) Having to spreadsheet out infusing because it wasn't 1:1... Duuuuuuuuuude... :,)

Yeah, but it was much Ado about nothing. People all trying to figure out how the different types we transferred or contracted(which I don't think anyone really figured out, did they?) And then it was all over with no consequence, other than probably some population info gained on Bungie's part.

I really miss how the game world would change prior to a DLC release, this was just one example where something suddenly appeared to create buzz prior to a release date.

Talking about Destiny 1 brings back so many fond memories and gets the feels going. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Destiny 2 but I don’t have that same feeling for it as I did for Destiny 1. Doing that Thunderlord quest in Destiny 2, going back to the Cosmodrome almost had me in tears. Which is why I’m so excited to go back to the Moon in Shadowkeep!!

it actually gave you a debuff lol, people went out to get all the different virus's but bunjie revealed a couple of days later what they did lol, each one had a negative effect.
The tech mites consisted of five different status effects that increased players' experience and reputation gains and were visible as colorful lights around the players' heads. Initially, players acquired only one buff and transmitted it to others via group activities such as the Crucible, Strikes, and Prison of Elders. As they came into contact with other types of the buff, they acquired those as well.
Taken From destinypedia
