Since the launch of d2 Phoenix Dive has undergone a few changes none to actually make it better. In and out of super this perk sucks. The only purpose Phoenix Dive serves is not taking fall damage, negating knock back from bosses.
Jump melee serves as a better viable option
As well as turning vertical lifts into a poor mans bounce house.
Phoenix Dive has to long of a cooldown an is quite wonky not activating it when you want it too. I’ve tried it with a different assortment of builds and saw little to no success. Even Phoenix Dive tied with either stag or wings of sacred dawn is a let down. Which In fact both suck as exotics BTW!!
Phoenix Dive also suffers from a long animation with almost little to no heath Restore. As you are a suspended in the air with no option to fight back. No matter how high up you are. Due to wormhusk nerf doing the same exact thing.
Even in super Phoenix Dive also suffers from a long animation and can barley kill someone beneath you as it also does little to no damage. Plus who’s actually below you when in daybreak! Especially since the moment someone hears dawnblade they run.
I’d suggest scrapping the perk and give us a Viking Funeral and touch of flame combo. In one as a perk replacer

I agree that it's bad, but I wouldn't want to see it go. It's a cool idea in theory, and I think they could do a few things to make it work. Firstly, they need to flat out remove its cooldown. I don't see why it needs one in the first place when you can only do it in the air. That just adds to its awkwardness. Secondly, the healing should be much more significant. Right now it does almost nothing. Lastly, the damage and blast radius when used in the super should be a lot higher.

What about something else like the ability to swing the sword and one shot enemies within a certain range. Or sword block to reflect damage or convert incoming damage to health or super energy. What about kills with Dawnblade grant health, this would even out the playing field when compared to bottom tree striker which gets super extension and health regen with super kills.

you really need to learn how to use it. It's irreplaceable in comp. The amount of time jumping around a corner to a lower point to grab half or more hp to turn around and have a better chance of winning the 1 v 2 I had has been great. It's just not a brain dead perk. I've killed probably half the people in my super with the daybreak drop. Sprint jumping and lobbing fire scythes, and then dropping down when someone is under me. Very simple. Use your brain, don't ape.

It’s actually really good if you know how to use it. Tbh I’ve been using it in super quite a bit and it’s extremely effective. In pvp I use it constantly for a quick health buff and it doesn’t take any sort of charge like melee on voidwalkers. -

Amaziniteにより編集済み: 7/16/2019 12:25:46 PMLol, bottom block Dawnblade is already strong. We don’t need to give it this perk combo. If anything, the top block should get it at no extra cost. Agreed that Phoenix Dive is crap though. How about giving bottom block Dawnblade some sort of grenade charge attack? The entire Voidwalker subclass can do that, the middle block Dawnblade can do that, and the entire Stormcaller subclass can do that with the Getaway Artist. Could be the same with top block too. Top block Dawnblade: charge your grenade to give it viking funeral + touch of flame. Bottom block: charge your grenade to ???
