The mod who passed the complain does not seem to WANT regional prices to exist, it almost feels like he has abused his power to get that done on purpose,
You are over estimating the power of a moderator. Even if he wanted to, he has no control or influence in pricing.
so it's obvious that the people affected are going to spam the forums whether it's a holiday for them or not. The threads will pile up until we can get at least some ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from a Bungie employee, because they let it face it .
All spamming for the sake of spamming is going to do is get the posts locked or deleted. Either way, you would want to temper your expectations as if the price change was an overreaction it would still have required someone at bungie thinking the price was too low, which would then mean there would be a middle ground price to be expected.

  • For the last time, it's not that moderators have a LOT of power to decide the price of a game but that one of them gave a bungie employee FALSE information and created a sense of urgency to quickly "Fix" it by just setting up the US price in the region instead of even think about an actual price for the region. Think about the situation like this: A moderator rushes to a Bungie employee's and tells him that "THE PRICE IN ARGENTINA HAS AN ERROR", how do you think an employee who, let's face it, doesn't even KNOW what an "Argentina" is now about its currency is going to react like? He'll do a hackjob and just put the US price in the region, completely ignoring the whole point of regional pricing, which none of the people involved seems to even acknowledge that it exists. Is not that the person involved thought "Hey, the price is indeed too low FOR THIS REGION, let's up it 400%!", he just simply punched the US price in after fully trusting his moderator (Because why wouldn't they do that?) and called it a day. The price we had in Argentina was the DEFAULT conversion value set by Valve, which Bungie themselves accepted the moment they pushed the game live on Steam for preorders. It wasn't an accident, it was the price we can afford. It doesn't help that since that incident the moderator in particular went completely silent and even "Liked" posts defending him just to try to make it look like he did nothing wrong like (Almost purposely) misinforming Bungie.

  • So, you think that the person, who's job is to set pricing is going to take the word of some random ass moderator from the forum?
The price we had in Argentina was the DEFAULT conversion value set by Valve, which Bungie themselves accepted the moment they pushed the game live on Steam for preorders.
As many others have pointed out in their reasonable posts, Bungie as the publisher has at their sole discretion the ability to not only set their price but to set the price for the regions as they see fit. They do not have to agree to any price model to sell on steam.
It does not help that since that incident the moderator in particular went completely silent
Well of course he did, some of the posts and misinformation are nearing harassment levels towards him. Look at this interaction you have had with me thus far. I have only said to temper your expectations as the original price may have been a mistake same as the change may have been an over correction, since then you have drawn lines in the sand, blamed the poster, blamed the mod, blamed the employee, when it may be a fact that the price was too low to begin with. All this from an account that has barely even played the base game. Best of luck with your movement, at the end of the day Bungie has the control and will decide with what is best for their company.

    >So, you think that the person, who's job is to set pricing is going to take the word of some random ass moderator from the forum? All it takes is one person with enough reach to ruin it to everyone else. You're welcome to explain to me how in a matter of HOURS the price gets changed after a troll successfully trolled a moderator. > As many others have pointed out in their reasonable posts, Bungie as the publisher has at their sole discretion the ability to not only set their price but to set the price for the regions as they see fit. They do not have to agree to any price model to sell on steam. They don't have to follow the Valve guidelines (Yet they did for almost every other country, HMMMM), but to say that there's nothing fishy about the whole situation where after ONE post about a particular country ONLY that country gets its price changed and randomly set to the US default price is silly. It's obvious that someone in charge did not do their job well enough thanks to being uninformed (The original poster didn't even mention the existence of regional pricing). You think this is impossible to happen? Here are three most recent examples: CODE VEIN from Namco Bandai: Originally out for preorder for $3000 in Argentina (An extra $10 compared to USA, and no, it has nothing to do with taxes). After people called them out for the ridiculous price it gets slashed down to $1800 because someone actually paid attention to the feedback (Still expensive AF but No one buys from NB around here anymore because of that). BLOODSTAINED by 505 Games: Originally around $3000, a severe overprice compared to almost any other country. I PERSONALLY contacted 505 games via discord to discuss this and their rep indeed admitted that it was a difficult job for them to decide a price so he asked MY help to find a correct price (Along with the help of a handful others). The price gets slashed to around $1400, I inform the rep that the price is STILL too high and that it's not going to sell well, he ACTUALLY TAKES my feedback and slashes the price down to around $900 again. Tons of friends immediately purchased the game after that. No one at Bungie is that reachable in comparison, which is why you'll continue to see this spam. KONAM and all of their retro collections: Two out of the three collections cost 3 TIMES MORE than in the USA (Legit $60 for a game worth $20 in the USA), it took them until the third game to finally have a somewhat reasonable (But still quite high) price. They have yet to fix the price in the previous games and may never will. > All this from an account that has barely even played the base game. And yet, a moderator paid attention to a person who DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME. I find this particularly silly because I STARTED to play the game precisely thanks to the upcoming Steam release after a friend convinced me to give it a chance. After the price was increased my friends told me that they were not going to buy it and we all immediately uninstalled the game. You wanna know why I barely played the base game? There you go, you can thank pobreloko (Who's very likely going to give your post a like because he'd rather do that than clear things up and not lose his privileged position) and his friend seth. EDIT: Bungie rep just stated that the price is going back to its previous value starting next week. There's MY middle ground.

  • One of the points, a very valid point, Tuxydoh was making to you was you needed to calm down. First, everyone makes mistakes. I doubt you have never made a mistake. There is no need to act like that in a rude manner over a mistake or misinformation. People make mistakes. Second, the preorders aren't even charged until the game/expansion is released. There are months before this expansion is set to go live. Nobody was actually charged anything yet. Again, simply, calm down. Bungie reps were on a holiday and look, after the holiday, a rep looked into it and announced it is being fixed.

  • I'm not even going to waste my time on your first point, but the second one is blatantly WRONG. You are immediately charged for preordering a game on Steam, what you can do at any time until release though is ask for an automatic refund.

  •
I'm not even going to waste my time on your first point
So in other words, you have never made a mistake so other people should be held to the fire when they make mistakes...got it.

You stopped playing as soon as you met the requirements to post on the forums, and after the the post and presumably the price change. FYI, bungie has issued their statement, the price will be adjusted next week.

  • Wait, there's a time played requirement in order to post here? WHY? That's a ridiculous rule. I stopped playing because I wanted to go to sleep, the day after that a friend tells me to go look at the store page for a "Beautiful" surprise and I was so baffled with the price change I immediately uninstalled the game. I'm currently downloading those 100GBs AGAIN to continue my playthrough (Barely made it to the farm).
