1 loot chest simply isn't worth it. It just isn't. The Reckoning rapidly died off because of (amongst other things such) poor loot, it simply wasn't worth running over and over for terrible weapon drop rates, and poor RNG on the armor.
The Menagerie is going to suffer the same fate once the chest exploit is removed. People will run their 3 powerful weekly drops, get their powerful gear and mods, then forget about it. I just completed a single run and with multiple chests got 7 pair of greaves... they were all bad rolls and I dismantled the lot. With a single chest I'm looking at approximately 4-7 runs (double drop chance chalice upgrade) for those same greaves, that I'm just going to dismantle...
I've spent somewhere around 40+ handcannon runes and STILL don't have the god-roll I'm looking. Do you really expect players to run 30, 40, 50+ Menagerie runs for a single piece of gear they actually want? FOR EVERY SINGLE SLOT?! ACROSS 3 CHARACTERS?!
My personal solution to make The Menagerie still worthwhile would be to add extra chests unlockable by completing encounters within the time limit. Perhaps an extra 2. 1 powerful drop chest per run (up to 3 weekly with chalice upgrade) and 2 non-powerful chests. Perhaps even a 4th unlockable chest with an extra weekly powerful drop for completing a rotating weekly challenge - flawless runs, killing encounter bosses with supers only, get X amount of melee kills etc etc.

15 通の返信So what I'm getting from all this feedback is that no one actually liked menagerie and you only pretended so you could get tons of loot at the end? Is the menagerie not fun?

1 返信No need to over complicate it, just max it at three chests per run. I think that's a fair compromise.

2 通の返信It’s one chest that you control the drop of specifically. I’ve used the glitch, but I still think it’s worth more than grinding an event I can fail for armor I can only really use in gambit. Menagerie is 100 times better

2 通の返信So far, lets see... Black Armory, pointless, The Reckoning, Pointless, Menagere... yeah this seems to fit the pattern.

SAVAG3 B3ARにより編集済み: 7/1/2019 4:15:06 PMThe only thing that bothers me is how they claim it was a 'glitch'. That it was never intended to work like this. But we all know the player base was under 1 Million for a long time. Not to mention the complaints regarding leveling in the game. Then all of a sudden you have this activity where you can chose your own powerful reward and can do it more than once per run. Then the player base skyrockets and then Bungie suddenly is 'addressing' the issue. Coincidence, I think not.

Once the chest glitch is fixed Menagerie is dead. I’ve grinded tons of hand cannons and snipers with ZERO good drops, and that’s before this “fix” that’s incoming. Why would I go through Menagerie when you only get one drop after the rewards so far??? The chest glitch is the only thing making the run worthwhile in my opinion.

1 返信Claiming that the fixed Managerie chest suffers from the same loot problem as Reckoning is a complete joke. Reckoning only has a chance of even dropping a weapon and even then it's only a chance that it's a legendary and not a blue and even then it's only a chance it's a gun you want and even then it's only a chance it's got good rolls. Managerie will always drop for exactly what you ask for, down to the masterwork, and if you're running a fully upgraded chalice then it drops two of every gun, giving you two chances to get the roll you want. Obvs the chest nerf will make the grind less efficient than it currently is, but it will still be one of the most efficient grinds in the game. Also, considering it's an unintended bug that they've intentionally delayed patching it's completely fair that it functions as intended.

Honestly one of the biggest reasons I think people get so mad about this game (obvious semi-functioning things aside *cough*matchmaking*cough*) isn't that it's bad, it's that it's SO much wasted potential. There's so many small bits and pieces that could be added in to dramatically improve the game, but they never do it. Bungie seems to have this weird mentality of "create it, then forget about it". I made another comment a while back about Zero Hour, how they put all this time and effort into it, yet its only replay value is a heroic version time-gated grind for a catalyst and an incredibly ugly (imo) ship. A simple addition of after completing it you unlock it as another weekly powerful reward mission adds immediate replay value AND helps players who haven't completed it get it done.

Ya know, there’s very little that’s opulent about this season. This is Calus we’re talking about. We’ve earned his favor and this is Activision’s going away party. Did they not think of the revelry when doing this? Calus applauds your flawless victory...with nothing. Will I play menagerie as much? Nope, I’ve got everything but the swords and ship. Will I play enough to get them? Yep, the title demands it. Is history repeating itself? You know it Will they compromise? Probably later, by the time Shadowkeep comes out smh

2 通の返信There's a big difference between Getting the legendary you want, a fun gamemode that isn't necessarily punishing and actually has variety and reckoning, the same repetitive thing eveysingle time (apart from 2 bosses) and a rare chance of getting a gun you may or not want with the roles you may or not want. Fixing this exploit won't make menagerie like reckoning

8 通の返信Hmm, I ran about 400 Forges runs, I guess more than 150 with Blast Furnace only. Maybe even 200 - I barely run any other guns. I still don't have roll I want. But I got five Air Assault/Slideshot. What would've changed if I got the gun I wanted, what, bungee afraid I'd stop playing Forges? I got curated Kindled Orchid, which is pretty close to what I want, I still do revolvers. I like playing forges, that's why I play them. Getting an item won't make me quit, even if item is Y1, without random rolls. People quit because they don't like gameplay. Menagerie is better than Reckoning because it removed fail factor (which is pretty frequent) and changed it with longer grindy factor (IIRC Reckoning runs were faster than Menagerie, but I'm still at 700, so this may affect me). In addition, Reckoning required preliminary Prime playthrough, and many people hate Gambit with passion, Prime or not. Other than that, the only advantage over Forges I see here is ability to select masterwork. That's all. Add it to Gambit and Forges, and what's the difference?

1 返信Novaにより編集済み: 6/29/2019 1:25:19 PMPerhaps a chest after every encounter if they are completed correctly within the time limit.

3 通の返信Guaranteed loot with a masterwork of your choice, which also somewhat solves the made up core problem you casuals have with recourse management because you wont need cores to make your weapons only slightly better. (Core problem isnt real btw) Once this game becomes an actual MMORPG in shadowkeep and D3 yall are going to suffer
-
1 返信If the only reason people play is for the loot then the activity is already not worth it... that means once everyone has what they want the activity will die so it's a dead cause before it started.

6 通の返信T3 reckoning isnt bad.. its just as soon as everyone got the stuff they needed they dipped. Also everyone hated the challenge cuz they casul

3 通の返信Could you pick a guaranteed slot of loot in Reckoning? No, you couldn't. So it isn't even close to the same. Could you lose and not complete Reckoning? Yes, you could totally fail, and get nothing? You and the others complaining about this fix that's still over a week an a half away, are the perfect examples of what it means to be or feel entitled. You want a bunch of rewards for little to no effort or risk. I remember running VoG, only needing the boots to get to max light, and it taking weeks and multiple trys to get them. But still enjoying the attempts. This game is about loot, but not only the acquisition of the loot, but the gameplay that leads to that loot. And I find your sense of entitlement, depressing and irritating.

4 通の返信The reckoning requires two game modes and rewards loot that gives pure advantage in gambit. Someone with the armor set > Then someone w/o.. That's the cost for the difficulty increase. The Menagerie on the other hand allows you re-roll any piece of gear 1 piece at at time, with zero random in what piece it is .. Also offers updated and re-roll-able synergy weapons Drang/mida tool. Chalice recipes Adding to that it gives 3 powerful gear in any slot you want, for each character.. each week. Let's not forget 4 easy weekly bounties that reward powerful gear + 1 for completing them all.. Sometimes.. I just don't understand this community.
-
1 返信So....did you never play D1 where people would farm a single strike for hours upon hours looking for the perfect roll? I'm talking like at least 100 hours. At least this way you can guarantee that you are getting the piece of gear you want...and just waiting for the roll itself. For all the complaining about D2, for all the putting on a pedestal of D1, people tend to forget that the D2 grind is WAY less intensive than D1 (Y3. Yes, I know at one point you could reroll) if you are looking for that perfect gun. And Menagerie, even without the chest cheese, is easily the best activity for it.
