Menagerie has received high praise, and a lot of that has been due to matchmaking without having to get on the mic and not having to wait on an ideal 6 man team from lfg.
Eh, your opinion. I disagree with it though. I'm more inclined to believe that it's due to the control the player has with the activity as a whole. Sure, you can argue that having matchmaking gives you more control too, but that only scratches the surface. It's minor, for now, but will eventually have a role in the future, depending on the game's future. If anything, the matchmaking was more to get players in the activity as quickly as possible to spread the word on "good content", maybe get some more annual pass buyers in the process. More marketing, than feedback response if you ask me. Smart move.
Why in the world would you go away from that for the heroic version? Just to appease the miniscule, hardcore player base, so they can feel special about themselves?
Ehhh you'll never get answers to that lol. Best not to overthink the questioning and form an upset biased opinion in the process. It isn't worth your own time or thoughts.
You should have just changed the encounters slighty, increased the difficulty where a wipe took you back to a checkpoint instead of orbit, and kept matchmaking. I'm probably not even going to attempt the heroic version because I know it won't be fun having to deal with the same mess the raids bring to the table.
Now there is some reasonable feedback! Why didn't you just start with that? Lol. Your feedback needs to answer certain "why" questions to be noticed and seen as critical. Otherwise you get posts that just bash you, or even insult you. You may get it regardless, but at least you leave no room to come across as "whiny" or what have you.
Bad move, Bungie. You need to move away from forcing people onto lfg to complete activities.
Mix of opinion and feedback here. I can see this being re-worded to get the point across. Now to get back on that control point I mentioned, it really holds ground for a Heroic version, which is supposed to be presented as a "challenge". Since the goal, as a whole, is to reach the end and complete the challenge, it makes sense to give players control by means of forming their own teams before going in. (I'm talking, loadout, subclass, perks, mods, weapon types, group strategies, etc). There is alot that goes into making a good team in general. A lot of it is just repetitive interaction communicating with players. With Bungie saying how their game is going to go MMO style, these small, finer details will eventually matter alot, and there are players out there who have fun in tweaking that finest detail in order to lead themselves, and others, to success. So your milage may vary, but this move was presented by Bungie beforehand, they haven't strayed from it. They probably won't bend at all once it's out. It's best to work out with the system in whatever way helps you, and just watch the changes as they unfold (since it's inevitable) that way nothing surprises you in a bad way.
