Quick question, and yes I know it is pc, and I am a pleb and not supposed to use a controller to play. The problem I have is movement, specifically sprinting with the controller. I have used both xbox 360 wired, and xbox one wired and wireless controllers and the issue is the same. 99% of the time the game refuses to sprint when just holding forward on the joypad, and instead does the stutter step thing. In order to sprint you have to hold the joypad at an approximate 345 degree angle (slightly left of center). This only happens in Destiny 2, which tells me something in the code does this. The same controller functions normally within Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Darks Souls 2, 3, Ni-0H, Overwatch, the Division, For Honor, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk, Samurai Warriors 2-X, Deus Ex:Invisible War and Mankind Divided, the Technomancer, and on and on. Destiny 2 is literally the only game that has this problem, and searching on google, I am not the only one encountering it. Bungie, is there any way this can be fixed before or with Shadowkeep?
If you use an Xbox One controller (I have a wireless one plugged in with a USB cable), then dont install any drivers. Windows 10 (hopefully that's what you're using) already has them built in.
Also, try unplugging your keyboard to see if that helps.
Other than that, I dont know. I havent had any issues using a controller.
