The abilities, melee, and grenade kills portion has really taken the fun out of this game mode. Locking the new gear behind an extremely tedious quest isn’t the way to go about this. 150 grenade kills is a little much. 50 maybe would’ve been more reasonable.
Edit: last portion of the quest can be completed by doing heroic public events only if you have a win streak.
Edit 2: people seem to think I’m complaining, not the case here. Thing is, I was fortunate enough to have a fire team of people all collectively on the same portion of the quest with equal goals in mind. Same goes for the specific weapon types and getting kills with those. For some who aren’t as fortunate and play solo mostly, this quest could easily take one, maybe two iron banners to complete one character depending on skill level and time invested. Since the new gear is locked behind progression, many people could feel discouraged since there’s really only two new drops outside of the gear.

I agree with you. I was fine with the quest until that third step. Melee and grenade kills? Does Bungie even play their own game? Grenades and melee attacks are garbage in D2.
-
Not defending this quest step as it is a pain but I see that people are saying you need 150 nade kills and that is not the case. You need 150 points from nade kills. Your kill = 3 points and your teammates kill = 1 point. The max number of kills you need is 50 and that is if non of your teammates get nade kills. Either way I do not like this step and it should be tuned or nades/melees need to due more damage.

No one: Literally not a single god damn soul: Bungie: "Let's try to fix a decent reward system for Iron Banner that doesn't really need fixed at all."
-
Well, what its done is highlight just how poor the abilities are. They are not reliable ways to kill. Grenades might as well be marshmallows.
-
I swear they did not think about how long it will take at all. You have to do it on all 3 god damn characters if you want the armor.
-
A lot of people do this stupid quest for armor. I do this quest for something more important! Shaders. New and shiny

ShadowFang42により編集済み: 6/19/2019 4:07:31 PMwhich last portion? the grenade kills? if that's the case then hallelujah. I also just want my D1 Iron Banner armor back p.p They even made the shader of the default color of the armor in D2. could we have it as an ornament? please?

The issue is the grenade kills, especially when grenades might as well be snowballs when you’re not a 750. Garbage quest step.

150 grenade kills....on a hunter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think my total grenade kills in crucible is at like 5 so far in 2 years.

Remember, Guardians: Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy said out loud in an interview that this game is no longer for "Johnny Two Sticks from Walmart" - i.e. anyone who is not a hardcore player that doesn't live in this game. (source: https://kotaku.com/destiny-2s-next-year-will-depend-on-how-players-like-th-1835446250) You want the gear, slog away. They're not making this game for the majority of their playerbase anymore. And, if you're not no-lifing this game, you're "Johnny Two Sticks from Walmart", the "lowest common denominator" (also direct quote from the interview). That's what Bungie thinks of your feedback on this issue.

Unless this quest has been nerfed already, I don’t see the problem at all. I’ve played about 5 matches since I got to that particular quest step and I’m between 20 and 30% of every step. I’m also not a good pvp player. What’s everyone complaining about... really?
-
Correct me if wrong, as currently I’m not playing, but have the seriously taken what was individual Bounties that could be completed simultaneously and made them into a ‘Quest’ which has to be done one at a time in order to unlock the ‘new’ but old armour? If that’s the case then it’s an epic fail.

cough cough run top tree storm caller with storm grenades, they are insane cough

Except it's not 150 grenade kills. It's roughly 30. 30 of your own grenade kills or 150ish of teammate grenade kills.
