the new shaders outlines (frames) look like trash and i would love it if bungie could return them to how they were previously
edit: also when deciding which shader to choose I literally get a headache due to how bright the frames are.

3 通の返信They look dirty to me. Hard to get a good idea of the color scheme when you're scrolling through your collection quickly. Also, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the shader thumbnails are laid out, as they don't seem to really relate to how a shader gets applied (ie, you would think that looking at 2 thumbnails where one has blue in the upper part and one has red in the upper part, that switching between them would change the same parts of your item between blue and red, but this is not true). That has always been very frustrating to me, since you have to actually preview or apply the shader to see what parts of your item will be changed to which colors. I would love to see Bungie completely revamp the shaders to make them a little more user friendly in that regard.

Yeah I really dislike the new look of the shader icons. It actually hurts to look at them too long. It looks like they all just got super sharpened, contrast ratcheted up, then run through some sort of film grain filter. It is not a good look and since they are somewhat muted in color now they also all just look the same.

2 通の返信I actually prefer them this way, they look more accurate. Maybe they should add a setting to change it for people who dont like it.

1 返信N7_Dredgenにより編集済み: 6/5/2019 4:35:38 PMI just wonder how they can justify the time and cost of assigning employees to this when literally nobody asked for it. Honestly this is the kind of change I can adapt to easily - it's more a matter of, is this really what Bungie should be spending their resources on? I think not....

6 通の返信So they can spend development time changing the shaders to whatever this monstrosity is, but they can’t be bothered to fix basic bugs. Bungle.

I am in total agreement. Not necessarily because of getting a headache, but before the update I knew every shader by the icon. Now none of the icons display the shader how it would look on the armor. They should've left it alone. It makes absolutely no sense as to why they would make this change. At least give us an option to revert the shader icons back. See that would fix most of the bellyaching right there. Give us options, not straight "fixes" that You think we want. Never asked for it, didn't want it, but have to live with it. That logic might as well be the slogan for all destiny players at this point.

If we had started the game and the shaders looked like this, it wouldn't be a big deal. After 2 years though and seeing them a certain way, it seems much more difficult to differentiate them now. Not sure why, of all the things they could and should be working on, this was given any attention at all. It wasn't a problem, and I don't think I ever heard a single person complain about them.

2 通の返信It's annoying that someone thought this needed to happen in the first place. I consider this 'tweak' to be an utter waste of time better spent elsewhere. Someone(s) had to update about 100 shader files just to make them look more worn down.

9 通の返信My problem is the new shader icons don't accurately present the colours. Its frustrating. Why do this?

1 返信No, I like it better this way they show what they do better if you ask me though some icons of them look way too similar now.

1 返信If something this petty is trending, I'm going to take it as a sign the Bungie is actually making progress in improving the state of the game. If this is the most annoying thing you're dealing with, they must be doing something right, for once ;)

1 返信My kids scribbled colors like this on the walls, giving me a permanent dislike for scribbling colors on things. Maybe it's some new mangled art form but it sure triggers my desire to wash it off so I can see the actual color.

1 返信I actually think they look bad-ass, it's the actual shaders that look like trash.

The 'more like they really are' argument can stand aside because the real problem is the broken ass contrast with the lighting You could easily have changed, say the black on Noble constant Red and included the Titan pattern, did the rest of the colors needs some terrible light shined on them? NO
