If performing a [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/46501]scan and repair[/url] doesn't work, delete the following local cache/settings directories found in Windows Explorer:

I have done this twice now, and I still keep getting the same error. it has only recently started happening these last couple of weeks and only in pvp activities.
