I am amazed at how many people are believing this claim. Bungie has no power over reddit. People are so conspiracy theorist about Bungie. They are a bunch of people who love the game, trying to make it better. Perfectly? No. They are a business so they try to find the best way to make a profit, but are they some evil secret society? No.
Tldr: Bungie is not the Illuminati

Bungie doesn't have power over Reddit _as a whole_, but it doesn't rule out the possibility of individual Reddit mods being bribed or otherwise influenced by the game development company that made and runs the game that this specific subreddit is for.
