He looked up just as he felt a sharp pain in his left side. A dreg just shot him with his pistol. He yelled in pain as he grabbed some dust and threw it into the dreg's face, blinding it. As it blundered around aimlessly, Ronin noticed two vandals pointing wire rifles at him. Walking up from behind them was a Captain holding a shrapnel launcher. Ronin backed away and ran for an electrical room. The three Fallen ran after him, determined to punish him for standing against them. One vandal fired a beam of arc energy but Ronin dodged to the side just in time. As he hid in the room, he closed his eyes, a few tears coming out. He knew he was going to die. Then he heard their footsteps and his eyes snapped open. He ran to a corner near the door and held his staff at the ready. He wiped the tears away from his brown eyes as he waited. The first vandal entered and Ronin swung his staff with all his might. Catching the vandal by surprise, Ronin heard the crack of bone breaking as the vandal hit the ground. The captain entered and Ronin had no time to swing again before it tore the staff away from his grip. The Captain snapped it in two as Ronin ran towards an electrical panel and yanked the wires. Then he felt a burning pain in his back and he dropped to his knees. He was barely able to breathe. The Captain slowly walked up from behind and grabbed him. As he did so, Ronin managed to grab two wires that still had an electrical charge. The Captain lifted him up and Ronin finally spoke. Ronin: Lights out devil. Then Ronin stabbed the captain with the wires. It spazed out as electricity destroyed its arc shield and coursed through its body. The Captain dropped dead and Ronin broke free of it now powerless grip. But before any action could be taken, the second vandal stabbed him with a shock blade. Ronin gasped as he looked the vandal in the eyes. Then he blacked out and breathed his last breath...for now. To be continued...
